When did it become Mac n cheese, not macaroni cheese?

Also, raspberry bellini crisps

The only food that isn’t improved by putting it in in a roll is trifle.

My tastebuds are exploding at the thought of some of these. And not necessarily for the right reasons.

Cheese & jam is my favourite. Better with extra mature cheese though

Buckfast lasagna wrapped in bacon.

This tasted amazing,

Ingredient for the buckfast ragu

If you don’t like the bucky just replace it with any red wine.

* 2 tbsp olive oil

* 6 rashers of streaky 'pancetta' bacon, chopped

* 2 large onions, chopped

* 3 garlic cloves, crushed

* 2 carrots, chopped

* Stick of celery

* 1kg lean minced beef

* 2 large glasses of Buckfast

* 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes

* 2 fresh or dried bay leaves

* salt and freshly ground black pepper

METHOD

Heat the oil in a large, heavy-based saucepan and fry the bacon until golden over a medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, frying until softened. Increase the heat and add the minced beef. Fry it until it has browned. Pour in the wine and boil until it has reduced in volume by about a third. Reduce the temperature and stir in the tomatoes and celery.

Cover with a lid and simmer over a gentle heat for 1-1½ hours until it's rich and thickened, stirring occasionally.

Lasagna sheets.

Mozzarella cheese.

The béchamel or white sauce..

ingredients

550ml whole milk

Half an onion

4 cloves

2 bay leaves

Salt & pepper

2 packs smoked streaky bacon.

For lining the tin.

Gently heat the milk with the onion & cloves & Bay leaves till it comes to the boil, then turn off the heat & let it infuse for 20 minuets then take the onion & other stuff out the milk.

Next mix butter & plain flour to make a roux then add the infused milk to make a thick sauce.

Line a loaf tin or small deep oven dish with smoked streaky bacon then layer the lasagna with a pasta sheet then white sauce & cheese then the ragu & repeat then top it off with white sauce & cheese then fold over the bacon & fire it in the oven for 45 to 50 minuets & serve.

Tip .. leave both sauces to cool slightly before layering the lasagna because the hot sauces make the pasta sheets curl up!
