Oh to have a female sex addict as a partner (male here).

All the public sex addicts seem to be guys who have been caught doing something they shouldn’t. However it can wreck a home.

Porn addiction again could wreck a relationship but compared to drug, drink or gambling addiction then porn addiction doesn’t seem like something you couldn’t work through.

So why did she get him to book into a sex clinic years ago?. They also split up for a while. Its obviously not all a bed of roses.

now i am not privy to why he went into a sex Clinic . But because he did , is that to mean he was a bad person as thats whats coming across

It does not make him a bad person but i would imagine difficult to live with which put a strain on their marriage.

There aren't pros to addiction. Doesn't make the addict a bad person and it won't necessarily end a relationship but it certainly can't have been easy for them and I'm sure, like any other addict, it's a daily decision and struggle but that doesn't mean they can't be happy.

So, no pros to addiction that's untreated/not dealt with.

Where did I say anything about it making him a bad person? There is no pro's to any sort of addiction, that's why I said there's no pro's

Celebrities have double the divorce rates of the general public. We don’t know how many have ‘arrangements’ that allow extra marital playing.

We reckon every guy in a monogamous relationship is a latent sex addict who given enough opportunities would eventually stray. Celebrities get hit on every day so just have to be hit on at a weak moment (might be first, hundredth or thousandth approach). Normal people don’t get that level of temptation. Sensible people in celebrity marriages (Zeta-Jones) probadly realise that.

There are no benefits to addiction. So no pros.

Lots of cons while they're ill. Still others when they are in control of it but there would always be that constant worry. The worry and those cons would be worth it for someone you love.

in sex addiction i would need to say the Pro is mutual benefit and the con's could be over bearing and possible violent towards partner due to not getting the fix they need .

Pro's I can't think of any, even if you had a really high sex drive you might think the one who has the addiction is only wanting you for sex not the person.

Cons any type off addiction is detrimental to a relationship, that doesn't mean the person is bad or that you couldn't make it work but living with any addiction is extremely difficult for all involved sex or porn addiction is not any different from gambling, drugs,alcohol or OCD addictions

The pros are short lived and temporary while the cons are lasting and permanent. In the beginning of a relationship, a sex addict may be very fun and exciting to be with and live with. If you're a swinger or polyamorous then it's likely they'll be up for lots of activity with you on the scene. If you don't actually care about intimacy and loyalty then the pros may benefit you while they are actually destroying your partner. To be fair, not all sex addiction is the same. It's not necessarily true that all addicts will cheat but there will be other harmful activities they may be willing to do at the risk of their livelihood, health, reputation and general safety. The sex will occupy the majority of their time and energy. Most sex addicts believe that they have to agree that they're a sex addict to be one. Not true. Their sexual behaviors may be damaging them psychologically, financially or damaging their relationships yet they will persist and insist that their habits are merely a 'lifestyle' and a pastime.

I felt that was becoming addict to porn as almost all spare time was spent on computer looking at it and house went to pot. Have now had to limit my time on here but still find it a push sometimes!!!!!!

There are self help groups out there in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee if anyone has a problem with porn or sex addiction. I know someone who blew his gran's inheritance money in less than a week(couple of grand)on porn, cash point meets with dommes, escorts and gambling. I'd agree there are no upsides to any addiction - he couldn't tell his family how he'd blown the inheritance money and ended up off work with depression, meanwhile his parents were suggesting he could have used the money as a deposit on a car or deposit on a house.
