As we are all heading into tucking into our Xmas dinner soon

I had a conversation just last night about what we love on our plates.

Not a fan of the traditional Turkey we have duck but with all the usual trimmings of potatoes sprouts n veg and not forgetting the now infamous chipolatas...but...in my house we don't call them chipolatas we call them pigs in blankets but I have workmates who call them kilted sausages and I know of folk that call them pigs in skirts.

So folks...what do you have for your chrimbo dinner and what do you guys call your chipolatas?

Seriously couldn't give a toss if this post goes off topic by the way.

We have Beef Wellington. No wierd names for things but I do like wierd combinations of food like a cheese piece with raspberry jam.

I love sage and onion, hate it with pork though..tastes like the smell of ass... Sprouts par boiled then fried with pine nuts and bacon bits.. Mmmm

I'd say the same kola but there are some out there that think they are different? Each way they are SMALL sausages lol

Chipolatas come in different lengths.. They are all quite thin though.

Chipolatas are the wee naked sausages. Wrapped in bacon they're pigs in blankets.

I love a good stuffing

I make my own - usually a sausage and cranberry one and a sage and onion one too. Stuff with one and the other in a loaf tin

I go way over the top with crimbo dinner every year, for starters I usually have three to four options, smoked salmon coronets, Cullen skink, and melon prosciutto or breaded mozzarella with picante dip, also usually do three roasts and have butter basted turkey with cranberry sauce , silverside salmon cut of beef with real gravy none of those granules or packet made, and aromatic crispy roast duck! Trimmings I don’t usually entertain stuffing, but make honey roast parsnips, goose fat roasters, mashed swede, creamed potatoes, sautéed garlic leeks, pigs in blankets, bacon baked sprouts and chantennay carrots.

Gotta have mulled wine and black currant wine.

And for pud I usually make a homemade toffee and fresh cream pavlova, tiramisu and lastly have fresh strawberries marinaded in grand marnier with homemade ice cream.

Only time of the year I go all out to put on a gastronomical show haha

Two kinds of stuffing, pork with finely diced onion and fresh sage, and home made breadcrumb made with the turkey stock, dried onion and sage. The difference in taste is amazing :D
