A harmless frivolity or just a clever marketing ploy to make us buy an item of clothing that can only be worn a couple of weeks of the year.

Don't possess one and would not wear one anyway.

Mainly because I don't wear cheap acrylic knitwear.

my family always do Christmas jumpers at Christmas time its just a bit of fun & my boys always have a competition to see who has the most ridiculess jumper lol

I saw one in tescos last week, it was black with the words "ho ho ho" down it.

Was going to buy it for a laugh and give it to my gf then I remembered I enjoy living.

I prefer a Christmas long sleeved t-shirt or dress rather than an itchy jumper. At least as an adult you can generally pull it out for the next year too.

Kids xmas clothes though are more of a pain. I'll admit my lot are little and could probably wear an Xmas top or leggings every day this month without issue but I tend to go a bit nuts in the sales and pick them up a year in advance

it won't be long before they're too grown up for it so I'm getting my fun now while they're wee

I've a real wool one my sister knitted for me.

Christmas jumpers or t-shirts are just a bit of fun fitting into silly season. No different to silly Christmas hats and the bouncy springy things on people's heads. Helps brighten up otherwise boring and dull days. Also good charity events.

I wear them for work in December and we have a night out with friends and it’s Christmas jumpers only as dress code (with appropriate other items of clothing, not just jumpers

) I think it’s harmless fun.

I do have to be careful of the type of material though. I can’t do itchy scratchy wool

Not at all, however I must admit to finding last year's personal development plan meeting with my line manager slightly marred by the fact that I kept getting distracted by the illuminated pom pom that was Rudolf's nose.

For Xmas jumper day last Friday in work, HR sent out an email saying that "those who are wearing Xmas jumpers are allowed to dress down in their jeans". The rest of us who don't have Xmas jumpers, myself included, had to be in business dress. Well bah humbug to my work!
