Good luck, hopefully not too late for you to organise as many places & people are already booked up. The Glasgow social started taking places in the summer.

Aberdeenshire

We used to hold socials and parties in Aberdeen a few years ago now.there is alot of planning went into them months in advance. Biggest one was in a function suite in a bar.that was a mad weekend. If you are only holding a small group social then it may be ok.

Some socials hire venues and entertainment etc and yes months of planning goes into it. If you just want to arrange for folk to meet in a bar and get to know each other don't see why that can't be done. Although the time of year may still be a pest as lots of folk already have stuff on. Nothing ventured nothing gained though OP x
