If you were made aware that someone had been private messaging others telling them what an ass hole you are? Asking for a friend.

I told them to start a thread asking for advice and hope people would ignore it... I'm sure people would come to that conclusion on their own.

As long as it's true, and you are an asshole, there's nothing to worry about.

If it's a lie, on the other hand, it could be libellous.

I had one person use a fake account to fish for info about what others were saying about them privately, and what I thought of their other persona. I advised them to block the other account and move on. I never heard from them again.

Became friends with a guy on here, who then turned into a jealous ass hole after I spent a night with an acquaintance of his, he's now trying like a bear to get into a certain girls knickers I'm now meeting regular, his tactic is to tell her loads of lies about me, funnily enough it's not working as she sees right through him

Thanks for your input. If you read the thread you will see that there wasn't anything to "get over" as I was never too fussed about it. It generated a varied range of discussion that didn't turn nasty. I am quite happy with that.
