When it's your birthday would you rather have a load of presents which will be hit and miss or the cash equivalent to spend as you like?

My family and friends know me well enough to give gifts I like, if I'm saving up for something I'll ask for cash to put towards it

She goes away in a few weeks to Dublin with her pal so I was thinking it'd come in handy for that otherwise she would spend it on boring shit

Birmingham (3nts)

I treat it like I treat Christmas, it's not the value of the gift that matters.

It's the act of giving something.

If there is a 'big' birthday, I give a small value gift and the rest as cash.

Giving cash is more practical but buying a gift shows that there has been more thought and effort involved, if its a gift that you know they will like, appreciate and use.

If its just panic buying any gift then give cash as it will probably get returned.

Gifts as they are thoughtful, I don't value cash really when I get it for a birthday/Christmas and it ends up going in the kitty for the house..... Or I'd be happy with a blowjob

Technically they’d have to be 18 to join here which would be in their seventies .

I like a mix of both. Money from my parents and husband (When I had one) and presents from my mates and siblings

Neither.. much as Christmas... don't believe in the hype of having to buy things on a certain day. Pure capitalism.

Rather give a gift when it is really heart felt and personal.. home made preferable or from a small local business and really, if someone knows me well enough they would do the same for me...

No thought is required when giving someone money. I think it's better to get a present.
