Morning all, I'm from Perth and have lived around Heathrow for the last 38 years, I feel it's time to get back to Scotland, jobs I'm looking at are around Glasgow airport, any suggestions on a good area to live in ??

Falkirk

All depends what you want. City life? A quiet life? Somewhere in the country?

Not city mate, seen some nice bungalows all over between Perth and Prestwick around 200k, I have family in both places.

You can always hop down the motorway to prestwick and you’ll have the advantage of great countryside.

Falkirk

Yes, up towards Loch Lomond. But if you want to be out of the way, Killearn, Balfron, Lennoxtown, Fintry. All nice places but more central.

Just had enough of it down here, every time I'm back up it's harder to come back, now's the time I feel I'll buy you a pint once I'm up there, it's some months away.

I'd suggest places like Kilbarchan, Bridge of Weir etc. Easy commute to Glasgow airport! Good luck

near Glasgow

Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and north ayshire all good for Glasgow airport.

Also worth looking at towns on the other side of the Erskine bridge.

All can be a nightmare in bad weather

A Galaxy Far, Far Away & Spain

I worked at Glasgow Airport for years, lived around the Anniesland X area which is only 15 minutes to the Airport through the Clyde Tunnel, but handy for the city centre AND getting out if Glasgow to the countryside. It gives me the best of all worlds (well except the good weather... so I’m moving abroad next year).

I guess it will depend how far you’re willing to travel for work, & how much you might want to pay for accommodation too. Good luck with the move when it comes.

Cheers for that I don't want to be in the city, I'm drawn towards the Dumbarton kind of area, don't want to be too far from CJ,s though for leisure time
