Like the new Doctor. Story was a bit Meh. Not keen on Walsh - not because he's "bad" - just takes me out of the Doctor Who world because of The Chase/comedy.

"So who is your favourite dr who? For me I’d say Jon pertwee "

I personally think there has been a lot of doctors who have been brilliant at their time.

I liked Jon Pertwee and then Tom Baker, (I was younger and some actually were quite scary at the time), and the Doctors in between were ok with some excellent episodes, then I think it got better again with David tenant an then Matt Smith took it further and I think Peter Calpaldi was excellent so like to think the new one with the fist female doctor will be brill, so far I think she will

I don't have a favourite one but the ones listed, I've really enjoyed them

Tom for me. "Would you like a jelly baby?"

Do like all of the newer ones too though I think Capaldi got a bit of a bad hand from some lesser storylines.

Some of the jon pertwee and tom baker ones where very scary but at its time no wonder. There was always some scary episodes through all the doctors but then you got things like the 'Weeping Angels' etc...

Do my cataracts deceive me or does Jodie Whittaker look like David Tennant in drag? Patrick Troughton best Dr ever, the episodes where the Yetis have taken over the London Underground scariest ever, I still haven't come out from behind the sofa. The modern versions of the Cybermen are not scary at all they all walk like Julian Clary with an accident in his trousers.

I think she’s been great so far, DW series always start off slowly and get better. I think they’re going for a throwback to older doctors with the tardis minimal look and the intro. Hopefully they bring back Michelle Gomez as Missy/The Master.

Peter Capaldi’s doctor should’ve had elements of his character in ‘the thick of it’ - Malcolm Tucker and acted more foul mouthed and Scottish

I mean really - what are the chances that a crashing spaceship on a massive planet will almost land right on top of the only living beings (and you happen to have a connection) on that planet?

All I can say is that the new doctor gets some good scoots/storylines as it's much needed and the sidekicks am not convinced. But the Doctor, she's took to the role well and has that wackiness / eccentricity that the role needs

First episode... yeh ok. Pretty decent... and a good monster.

Second episode - generally ok but didn’t have me following as much as it usually would.

Third Episode, I agree important period in history but generally a pretty shit Dr Who story.

Fourth episode here come the creepy Crawley things and was better. But still not a great storyline. Thought the trump reference and American character were quite apt though.

Fifth episode I actually liked.

anyone noticed how much death there has been just in five episodes? I’m sure there’s been more than happened In the last series.

Just watched the latest episode tonight and have missed last weeks but its all starting to get better. The storylines are becoming more interesting n exciting but the Doctor Who's sidekicks still not convincing although you can see their acting is starting to get into the show.

Put it this way. Usually I'm out when Doctor Who is on. Normally I catch it with in 24 hours of airing. At the moment I don't really care for it much.

The writing is weak as are most of the cast excepting the Doctor. Who at times looks to be hamming it up in a bid to make up for the rest.

Need a jaw dropping episode to get me back.

Yes there’s a new show runner and new writers. Moffat wrote a lot of the scarier ones like blink etc, but he’s gone now.

I’ve enjoyed the new doctor though. Capaldi was brilliant. In fact, has overtaken my love of Tom baker as my doctor. The one in the tower is an absolute classic to me

Thanks for that TamaraBeaverbank

You can tell there was a change, yeah Capaldi, first few episodes I wasn't sure but his wackiness was brill and some of the stories were exciting.

There has been some excellent, stand on their own episodes even before Capaldi and where quite scary like 'waters of Mars' or some of the Weeping Angels episodes.

I like the new Doctor but she's still hindered by the storywriting so think she will come into her own if given good stories

Look stop sitting on the fence and say what you really feel

Think everyone agrees with you about the stories n scriptwriting, they need to get way better. Regarding the new doctor, totally disagree, very good actress and you can see she's trying to put a good spin on her take of the new doctor but the storylines do not help her. Genuinely think if the stories get better then we will all find that she's perfect as the new doctor

A Galaxy Far, Far Away & Spain

I was ok with having a woman as the Doctor especially after Michelle Gomez knocked it out the park as Missy. I didn’t know who Jodie Whittaker was so I was open minded on her taking over the role even though I thought they’d only just got it right with Capaldi.

Sadly I find her voice irritating & even hard to understand at times. So many companions can be a bit confusing & the limited time to squeeze in interesting things for each of them to make their mark isn’t helping. Maybe returning to a two or more episode story arc might help with their character development.

The stories haven’t been as gripping as I’d hoped with the exceptions of the Rosa Parks & India episodes as the two standouts.

No doubt I’ll stick with it as I did with Capaldi’s run knowing he was better than the material written for him, but not knowing her work I’ll admit to losing interest & hope they find a way of fixing the issues or bring back characters like Missy, River Song or even Captain Jack Harkness that were were so well written that it gave the Doctor someone they could bounce off, but so far this new Doc isn’t quite hitting the mark for me.

Capaldi got off to a good start with good scripts so a lot of people took to him and actually he was a good Doctor and most will remember him for that.

As said above by myself and quite a few others, I think the new female Doctor is good but is suffering from boring scripts/storylines and the sidekicks are not brilliant, so its been quite slow so far.

I’m gonna have to disagree with you Horsey. I thought they were hit & miss with Capaldi to start with, partly as Chibnall’s scripts (new show runner) but mainly because they had trapped themselves with the Clara character which they struggled to give a suitable story arc to.

They finally hit their stride by introducing Bill Potts. Ironically they had great companions in Bill & even Nardole, exciting scripts, & Capaldi at his most effective.

I’m still out on Jodi’s Doctor, the companions (now a team), the scripts (with two exceptions), & I’ve recorded but not watched the New Year special. I have NEVER recorded but not bothered to watch ANY episode other than live, which I can only put down to lack of interest.

I still hope things pick up & she gets better with age, better scripts, the companions gel better & Jodi calms down a bit with more of an individualistic feel & not a female Tennant.

The show is a gem in the BBC Crown Jewels & deserves better treatment than shunting it’s time slot, & slowly starving the show of oxygen.
