Well as the tital says Negativity On Posts, Dislikes of People and Trolls.

What's ur take on them.

I think a tiny few on here know me from my posts and most whom I've met really know me as a person.

On the forums I've seen some negativity on posts that have been started by someone asking a question, even posts that I've not posted on and think to myself 'why oh why did they have to say that'. It just ruins the post, possibly taking it off topic.

There are a few on here who dislike me due to their view and you can also see by postings of people who are disliked by others. It also shows you the blinkerness by some. A person who dislikes me posted a reply to someone and I replied with their quote as totally agree which in turn they said 'now there's a first'. I was checking back and noticed quite a few things I agreed with on posts and some I didn't but I was always respectful but only negativity from me as with others is when a condescending remark is made or being bitchy or just contorting what I posted.

I looked at a few others who don't like each other or someone who doesn't like a person on here and it usually follows the same remit. If a person I do not like , posts then I won't post to then. I will however post if it's an interesting subject and try and keep it on topic.

In regarding trolls, well they are here, there is actually one well known who never posts anything positive and I used to think why, now I don't even give that persons post a thought and actually skip by it as the mods say block and ignore.

The forums are good at times, good laugh and sometimes serious, intellectual post that offer the chance of a good debate and then I pop in, Fuck

There are misunderstandings on posts and by fuck don't I know it but before I post to a thread I try and realise what the question is and what the OP is truly trying to covey so as not to go down a different/wrong route to what it's originally intended. Yes sometimes what my intention of a topic has been read, not wrongly but misunderstood and sometimes that's my fault for which I'm sorry

Forums are great but people are greater and everyone is different and thus see things differently from others, sometimes to their own detriment but hey Howe that's life. So hopefully your still fucking reading this and remember the question

Wonder if this will take off in a self thought provoking and stimulating enhancement of your own thoughts or will it end is 'Auch he's a bam' kinda thing

I don't really dislike anyone then again I don't know many, and people I don't know I don't have an opinion on.

A couple of weeks ago, for a very brief period, the Scottish forum turned to a love in with 'old friends' harping back to halcyon days on here and sharing in-jokes on threads.

I'd suggest that turns a lot more away from using the forums as a source of amusement than the perceived negativity and trolling that is lamented often by some.

I'll continue to get my amusement from poking fun at some of the shite that's posted, and if I step outta line the mods will continue to do their job.

And imo, the best threads are the ones that go off at tangents

I agree but others are deliberately negative unfortunately I try to be positive

I do feel that sometimes when anyone posts something different or new it can feel like a bit of a feeding frenzy to the OP - I try and put myself in other persons shoes

Treat others like you like to be treated and we will all get along fine and dandy

Constructive criticism is fine but negativity for the sake of it does not make a happy forum

I rarely post for these reasons but hey it’s friday I’m thinkibg happy thoughts and positivity

Naw if they have to vent let them but it's a shame they try and be negative on a post to try and change it.

If you realise they are constant n beginning to look like a troll who openly admits to try and ruin posts then just ignore and move on. The trolls I mean are usually ignored now, most don't even acknowledge them anymore.

Personally can’t be bothered with the forums anymore due to trolls, negativity and even sometimes the privates jokes. ( I’ve probably been guilty of some of this in the past) god forbid I mention the ones that don’t agree with your view and then proceed to attack you. Still pop on n have a wee nosy as some of the posters make me smile or laugh out loud n for me that’s what it should be about.

I actually laughed recently seeing trolls refer to other people as trolls, I wonder if they even know they are a troll. To me they come in all kinds of guises and not always the obvious ones.

Some seem to come on just to argue or pick faults in other people’s posts.

Fab is meant to be a wee escape, but these days I find myself logging out more than in

I've asked this loads of times when troll threads get started but never received a reply.....What makes a troll? Is it having a different sense of humour? Is it pointing out the hypocrisy in others?

I think most folk just use the forums to have a laugh though there is a nasty character or two kicking around

If you read the post you'll see it's not a rant

. It's a question. I don't think trolls get to me, much to their dismay. I do block the trolls and I mostly pass them by but sometimes I've replied but usually ends up ripping the piss out of them and that wasn't intended, just it put them in a corner and shows them up. I even know one idiot troll who asked to go to a social and they wur banned Lolol pure class.

I do think however it's a dangerous game they play as these thing do come back to bite them on the ass. Not all the time but sometimes.

I think there are plenty of examples but I any stating them on here. Sure you can find some if you really wanted too

I would suggest though that bragging about showing people up and putting them in a corner isn't really something to be bragging about at all. And it's probably not very nice to go referring to folk as idiots...that's all a bit negative

I'll try and find it, there was a guy on, I think the London forum making a post about his partner who passed away and the nasty replies were sickening. I do not know if the guy was liked or disliked as I never checked the green button but it was so vile and you just wonder at some people. Such a shame.

Yes when anyone posts you take a slight chance of being ridiculed or nasty comments towards you but as long as you know and accept this then you'll be fine.

I post on topics I want to post on but as far as keeping it 'on topic' that is something I cannot promise. I am not a mind reader, I read the original post and I will always answer the way I want to and take the subject where 'my mind' takes me. If it is not the direction the OP had intended well... it is kinda tough! You put something on public forum and you have to be ready for the subject to take directions you had not anticipated... if you listen you may learn from some of the tangents some people take.

Am not on here for a popularity contest. Some people will agree with some of my comments, some won't, it is all good, I don't need approval of what I write, just sharing my take on things.

Some threads have turned into a ping-pong of negativity and yes people that do not like each other should either not comment on each other's comments etc... but it is up to them.Same someone can chose to engage or not in a ping-pong match or not.

Ooh my! It's contagious... am writing long paragraphs

Now, I hope I am still 'on topic' for this subject

You also have to remember that at time the issue does not start 'in the forum' but has originated from a ping-pong of private messages that have perhaps not gone well and are carrying on in the forum.

The post is really a generalisation and not intended on my own personal experiences on here. Think everyone has sampled them all on here one time or another.

Genuinely I have posted stuff and someone has come in with a different viewpoint with reason why and made me change my view from my own intended post and that's what makes a good forum and debate, which when done right the forum is brill

Nope I being honest, the said person doesn't go to socials. She openly admits to windin up on the forums.

I know she doesn't go into the scots chat room or go to the socials so I'm saying go, people are friendly and will treat you accordingly. I do not know how anyone will be treated in the forums or chat room or social, its up to them to act their own natural way and I'm sure it will be replicated.

I don't troll, don't need to, I will, not all the time, give it back to the people who have attacked me personally as you rightly know

As said the post is a generalization but guess what, certain ones who dislike me cannot help themselves on this post. there's even someone who read the title and didn't want to read the post and made a comment, enough said lolllllll

Why don't you try it, if someone you dislike, try and not make a comment towards them but just about the generalisation of the post and the question in hand and reply to that.

A fact, I have never once started a derogatory comment towards you, never have, never will, can you honestly say the same

for me, there has already been comments towards me on the forums, I don't report them, I'm all for having them stay there and this is the way they are truly shown up.
