I’m taking a tgirl friend out for a walk next midweek afternoon. Anyone have suggestions for somewhere quiet and safe to do so ? Somewhere around east end or south side preferably.

If you think Glasgow is that bad, try Edinburgh instead as you’ll get less hassle on the Royal Mile with all the tourists around

A public path should be safe enough to walk on...

Remember your poop a scoop , those nasty council officials have been known to follow you around parks , just waiting for that mess.

If she doesn't look at all convincing then just stay at home.

If she looks at least ok then take her out and be proud to have her by your side!

If a t-girl makes an effort to look good then I think the public recognise that and treat her with respect. If she makes no effort then the public ridicule her.

I mentioned it to you as it's impolite, I wouldn't want you coming across as contradicting your own claims

I'm fulltime transgender. I go out all the time in Cowdenbeath where I live. I go to Dunfermline and Edinburgh regularly. I also follow Dunfermline Athletic and go to East End Park every home game. I've never had any hassle so I'd be surprised if you couldn't do the same in Glasgow. In fact I've been in Glasgow and found no problems

I don’t really understand why you need a ‘safe’ place. Is this her first time going out dressed?

As long as you are both confident, you can walk anywhere you like. I think some of the comments are thinking you are looking for a ‘safe’ place to play rather than just walk.

I get what you're saying but find your last comment quite sad.

I just think of the nerve and fucking balls it must take for a TV to get dressed and go out in public. Anyone doing anything other than applauding them should be told to get to fuck.

Edinburgh.

I find the safest way is one foot in front of the other and look both ways on crossing the road.

Kelvingrove park is very safe place, a lot of tgirls walk that park during the day, there is Trans meetings at the sandyford clinic certain days of the week and they tend to walk through the park as a confidence builder for those starting the transition

I agree. There’s nothing wrong with what you are both doing.

But it seems that you both lack confidence.

Just go for it.

As for the other comments I have to say they were more about the way you phrased your original post and not aimed at her.

Be proud that she chose you for her first outing in public if that’s what it is and don’t worry about other small minded people

I transitioned in Glasgow and never really had much grief. I live South side and there is a small but noticeable (in a positive sense) population of Transgender folk nearby. Best advice I can offer is to dress appropriately. People are mostly too busy to care. If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck then they don't bother. Good luck to you both!

Just get her to dress normally and not overdo it.... Then walk where you want, honestly nobody gives a fuck.... Im 6ft in my bare feet and i go out and about in public.... You get the odd double take, but very very few people will say anything to your face without too much to drink..... Just like most halfwits hiding behind a keyboard...

Just find a nice park/forestry walk and just do it...

Totally agree - it is hard going out for the first time. Really hard. One day it will be better.

i was utterly shitting myself the first time i went out, and im not a nervous person in the slightest.... i soon realised after doing it a few times its not so bad

mind you, some of the comments are to an extent indicative of certain peoples attitudes which is what makes it such a difficult step in the first place

have to disagree, he was an obvious troll doing it for his own amusement, which isn't that bad a thing at times... but i saw a few comments from him that were homophobic/transphobic/racial etc.. that went over the line...... typical keyboard warrior tit tbh
