I'm just spitballing here and throwing it out there

Always good to have something different and recently I was with my daughter and we watched 'Calamity Jane' ad the dance card bit got me thinking.

Instead of a dance cards at a big social why not have all member who are there with cards and their names on it and if someone who is interested in that person for fun, they can put their name on it for fun or social meet maybe in the future .

Still to work out legalities;

Maybe a table full of everyone's cards and if each person at the social has a number wrist band etc.. then someone who make the card with their name knowing the wrist number is whom they wanna meet.

just an idea as there could be problems that that person who marked the card might not be wanted by the person for fun.

just a thought

get chatting or if you have some other idea to spice up a big social, lets have it.

I will say Socials are brilliant right enough, well everyone I've been to and most others that I've heard but its something different.

Good in theory but you need to think if your putting usernamems on cards and staff etc are around it could lead to a few very akward questions.x

Recipe for disaster. What if your a male or female who is not as appealing to the eye and no-one writes down their number or name on your options card. Would be interesting to see how many of those people EVER went to a social again. Or is that the idea, have a social just for the fab elite ,?

What's wrong with the principle of a social? Go interact with the people who catch your eye and see if you want to take it to a future fun meet, based on whether you have a connection or not.

It was a laugh and if you though of putting another idea up then do so.

And yes, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a big socials and yes some people will just go up to people and ask and yes staff at the social might not know and then realise its swingers.

All those things were thought of before posting but its a forum and asking for ideas. (not one idea needs to be heeded)

Hosts of every social think of things for the social and if they think it will be good for the social or mighr even potentially raise money for charity then they might use something similar even though organising is really hard work and takes a lot of time to arrange.

yip it can be, The xmas one will be one of the busiest so we all have a lot of faces and names to remember on the night

yip it can be, The xmas one will be one of the busiest so we all have a lot of faces and names to remember on the night

Don't think I asked for an opinion. I'm sure I only stated "get chatting or if you have some other idea to spice up a big social, lets have it. "

I was actually hoping for ideas from people, even funny ones as nearly every social I can remember has been a success so any additions do not need to be added but you never know.

I mean, well I have been wrong before but there will be a kissing booths at the Ayrshire social, 9is this the first time at a swinging social so someone thought of that to add to a swinging social at some time. Someone might come up with a fantastic idea and easy to implement that even the host as well might think, 'great idea'.

One thing already we have learned that a few find it hard to remember names to faces etc... so anyone got an idea how to get over that.

and before anyone says, No! putting a ink stamp on everyone's forehead upon entry. That just wont work

I have been to socials in the oast that have gave name badges etc but it all depends on where the venue is. And onv not everyone will.wear one x

yeah its hard to keep everything discreet at a social just from the staff alone

I've been to socials, where I believe the staff found out it was a swinging social

Prob with badges is if using fab names, some may not be appropriate to have visable to staff. And if using actual first names, wouldn’t be a connection to fab name.

Guess at least at socials you can have your phone or pen & pad so if do have a connection with someone can take contact details down.

We give out business like cards to people we chat to and get on with in clubs. It has our couples profile name on it but no numbers. As some have been drinking and may not remember who we are, This is particularly useful for newbies who's first venture into swinging is a club visit. Lots of these people have never even heard of Fab. We have had lots of messages from them saying hi , remember us , we have now joined Fab. It also helps newbies get that all important genuine verification. Plus business type cards can be handed over very discreetly too.

There's kissing booths at the Ayrshire social when you drop money into a jar to go into the booth to kiss the girl. All money raised is going to charity.

Great idea will be a brilliant giggle n raise money.

That’s actually how speed dating works. Everyone wears a number and at the end of the day you have a scorecard where you pick if your want to see someone and if you are a mutual match their contact details are forwarded to you and vice versa.

Yeah was a good idea for the shy ones and did let you know who liked you, I was the opposite I didn’t go to pull girls I spent my nights on the dance floor absorbed in the music busting some shapes haha

We played bingo at the valentine singles social. You had to find a different person to complete each statement in the boxes. Eg who had red underwear, who had blue eyes, etc. It was a fun way to mix and meet people.

Got everyone moving and mixing.

Shag tag was great fun wear a red Amber or green badge depending on your status I suppose we could. Do the same straight bi etc and give everyone a number it's all good fun tbh and put up messages or numbers on the board ie hey 24 it's 61 here fancy chatting or even have code it can be as obvious or as discrete as you make it
