What's your favourite cold remedy?

Nothing actually works, apart from paracetamol and fluids, but I love an old wives treatment like vick on yer feet

"Bottle of malt whisky....you’re that fucked the cold doesn’t matter "

True story: I used to do bar work in a local hotel in my student days, and went in with a real stinker. One of the regulars plied me with hot toddies all night, and after six, I didn't give a hoot about the cauld! I had to be carried to a sofa in the staff quarters at the end of the night!

Warmed up ginger ale with whiskey or bourbon and some honey in it with a slice of lemon

( with vicks on my feet with fluffy socks) my gran would heat up salt an put it in a sock round my neck when I was a child. Think I got croup as well as chest infections a lot

Musicmaid x

I never really know why and never have tried it but remember her putting butter on my nose and she would heat the salt on a shovel then put it in a sock round my neck. She was a proper white haired, pinny wearing type of grannies lol

Salt draws out impurities and the lack. Of Epsom salts heating table salt is a worthy alternate

I try to make a pot weekly. Broth, lentil, tottie. Usually broth though and by the time it's ready, the meat is falling off the bone. Leave it overnight for the full flavour.

When I have a bad cold (Although most are bad with me) I switch to lots of fruit juice and hot toddy before bed.

I used to always make a pot weekly but I've not been well for a while. But have a pot of chicken broth in go now, need to get a doggy bag off you when you're making your next pot and give you my review

Echinacea doesn't work. Paracetamol, fluids and vitamin c.

Although I've settled with Netflix and a duvet day!!!

I hope it's thick enough to stand a spoon in.

Anytime you want a taste let me know, but must warn you, you'll be back for more.

Take a mug and fill it with hot not boiled water and stir in a couple of teaspoons of honey and grated ginger. Works a treat! Paracetamol to get you through the day x

Vicks first defence nasal spray as soon as you feel the start of a cold in the back of your nose.

Works for me.

Nessarosa

Tea made from plantago, mullen flowers, horsetail, elderflowers, honey....with a half shot of rum taken 3 times a day drinking it as hot as you can take it.

Chicken stock cube and a crushed garlic toe in a cup add boiling water.... enjoy.

There are a few others but ingredients are harder to get.

Xxx
