Meet in hotel room without meeting

Had been chatting to a lovely couple for a while and had arranged to meet. Firstly it was at a hotel that I used to stay at on business, the hotel is cheap and cheerful with locked adjoining rooms that are wafer thin and they asked to meet giving me just hotel room number, no drink or anything before ....I declined

What would you do?

Personally I don't meet without a social meeting before.

But if you're tempted why not ask if you can meet for a drink in the bar first.

If they refuse consider if they're verified. If they're well verified you could take the chance they're genuine.

You’d be walking into a potential suitation with just the Male from couple being in room.

If they not will to do a social in bar first, then that’s alarm bells for sure.

Personally I'd want a meet in the bar or somewhere similar first, Mainly for safety for all involved but also to ensure there was some mutual attraction, I'm not an any hole is a goal type and If I wasn't attracted to her then I wouldn't go any further.

Have you chatted on the phone. If your %100 sure they are a genuine couple and not timewasters then grow a pair and go meet them

Your 6.1 in height I'm sure if you get to the room and decide you don't like what you see they ain't gonna tie you up and make you do something you don't want to. Doom and gloom of the world these days. I'm sure this couple have no Intention of spending the next 10 years behind bars just to make you shag them . Lol

Thats unnecessary. Given the situation he is right to decline. If that was a single woman would you tell her to wise up and go to a situation she didn't feel comfortable with for the sake of a shag?

There was a forum post from a TV who had a horrendous experience with an immediate hotel meet. Men can be assaulted too!

Absolutely agree it's a totally different situation for a female and a guy of course is at risk too BUT what this man said was . Been chatting to a lovely couple for ages. Now in my opinion they have said we have a hotel why don't you come over. I also said have you chatted on the phone to be sure they are genuine. I also said he does not need to shag her or them. And lastly I said the likelihood of them being dodgy with him would be very slim as would it really be worth prison time ??. Now what part of my response was unnecessary, perhaps the grow a set of balls. Ok I was just trying to make him man up a little on that point.

You’ve got to do what is comfortable to you.

If they declined a social first you’ve the same right to decline going to their room

I’m sure they found a willing single guy who was happy to knock on arrival

Why is he a timewaster? Because he has declined to put himself into an unknown and potentially dangerous situation? Surely everyone whether male or female are entitled to decline a meet if they don't feel comfortable with the arrangement. In my book that doesn't make you a timewaster it simply makes you a sensible individual putting your safety first over a meet!

Your post is very vague, did you ask to meet them in the bar beforehand? Or did you just back off when they initially gave you their room number? Tbh it matters not one bit what others would do, if you didn’t want to meet you don’t meet it really is that simple!!

No way would I meet anyone in a hotel without verifying they genuine first!!

I have had meets at my home but I insist on video chat and that they give me either their full name or license plate number and I always arrange for a friend to phone me.

Obviously the nature of this site means there are inherent risks but I try and be sensible....mostly!!

Much prefer to have a social first but lots of men do seem to resent that.

They chatted , they got along , they got a hotel , he never showed. Not enough info to have any other thought on it.

That's a lot of assumptions to make on a short post.

If the couple want to call him a timewaster because he didn't feel comfortable with the situation then thats their opinion. Not everyone expects meets to skip to their beat.

No I do believe he had a potential meet in a hotel then did not turn up , as said earlier it's happened to us and the past, best of it is , we were told by other couples and females who did turn up that it was quite common for single guys to be 'no shows' .

He did not show he declined the meet , that’s a different thing all together. Anyone , man or woman has the right to change their mind at any time. I think your projecting your experiences of no shows onto him

Yes agreed Bitz, but if the story is true it reads like they messaged , got along , the couple trusted him enough to give out there room number for him to decline. As stated not enough info but 2 sides to every story. And we have had some lovely guys come to our house after chatting for a while then sorting a meet. But we have had guys who have bottled too. Like I said earlier, they talk the talk. Yes I put this guy in that category.

All fair points and I take them on board. I'm only going on his limited info ie chatting to a lovely couple for a while, arranged to meet in a cheap n cheerful hotel, then he declined because they asked him to meet at there room. Nothing to say they were pushy or whatever. I see no further explanation from the OP so have nothing more to go on. Could even be what was said earlier a jackanory story story. But Defoe just 1 side. My main point is the risk involved were virtually zero as it was a public place just a private room. Absolutely if it was a female I would not say the same.

Your also summising he gave fair notice. Maybe the couple booked the hotel on his recommendation on his agreement to meet. Lots of its and maybe. And maybe his rear end collapsed when they said that's us arrived , here's our room number.

All fair play for your decision I guess but you've done everything as per contact etc. I'm curious what were you afraid of with the difference of the room or the bar. Did you think you could walk away from one but not the other if you chose not to stay ?

A hotel room may not seem secluded but who is going to help you if there’s an issue? Unless you have your phone and can call or shout for help realistically who is going to run to your aid? Some hotels have over 10 floors.

No social meet = no meet for me.

I have literally been trying to warn a guy on here today about going to a hotel meet with a "couple" who only have a single male profile and one verification from a year ago!! But nope the thought of getting his hole is putting all common sense out of his head!!!
