It's just the way they say tattie, it's potato scone, but potatoes are generally tatties.

If I’m feeling posh it would be potato.

If I’m feeling agricultural I would go for tater (as in tay-ter)

I have heard them referred to as tattie, but in my experience generally people here say tottie. There's no hard rule, call them what you like.

Iv always called it potato scone .. but think the Scottish way is Tattie lol who knows .. it tastes the same regardless

It all depends on where you come from. Where I come from a potato is a totty, so we say totty scone.
