Just finished the Rebus novel “Let It Bleed” by Ian Rankin, Tartan Noir is one of my favourite genre’ of books and I’d recommend to anyone who likes a good read!

Anyone got other recommendations?

Just read dead men's trousers-by Irvine Welsh and now reading -the bickford fuse -by andrey kurkov....he's a Russian writer who lives in the Ukraine...ive read a bunch of his stuff-death and the penguin-the milkman in the night-the good angel of death....its weird stuff but oddly compelling-the script on death and the penguin simply said-a penguin stands between one man and death by the mafia...it intrigued me so I gave it a go (I like penguins).it was both funny and touching and was like a window into a world I knew nothing about-modern day Ukraine.

Just finished Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Harari, and now onto Yanis Varoufakis' Adults in the Room. Sapiens was the most interesting book I've read in a long time, and I'm well versed in Yanis' writings already so know that book will be amazing too.

Read ALL Bernard Cornwall except the Last Kingdom. All solid to excellent if you are not looking for a cerebral reading experience.

And agree on the tv transition. Sharpe on Tv was good (for its day) but the books even better.
