I’ve just come back home tonight after spending five days in hospital due to severe stomach pains which despite having various tests could not be determined, which is very frustrating on my part. A huge shout out and massive thanks to those who dedicate their working lives to working for the NHS, the treatment I received was exceptional from all the staff working at Edinburgh Infirmary

Best way to thank them is to send the staff on the ward a card, the NHS might not check swinging sites for public feedback.

I've had several A and E visits over the years mainly due to my own sporting interests but my children had the odd incident or three also and I had a routine but major operation last year.

The NHS do fantastically well with meagre resources in my opinion.

Couple of years ago on holiday in Mexico i went for a flyer, there was rum involved, but anyway i dislocated my shoulder. Get scooped into a Mexican ambulance, they hadnt a clue, thought id broke my arm. Hospital sussed it and popped it back in for a small fee of 1500 us dollars. We lucky to have the NHS, some of us dont realise how good it is until you dont have it so hopefully the politicians wont fuck it up

Livingston

I totally agree.. St Johns in Livingston is my second home. I've been in the same ward/bay/bed 9 times in the past 18months. The staff are absolutely brilliant (although I can usually hear them muttering "aw shit, the mad jambo is back".

When I was in last week, I sat at the nurses station every night drinking tea with them, helped them in the mornings making the beds and sorting the meal trays.

Nurses certainly deserve the title of Angels. They do not get the recognition they so rightly deserve with what they have to deal with on a daily basis.

Totally agree with this too. Our NHS staff do an amazing job but rarely get the credit they deserve.

Agree with above. Often more complaints than praise. Go to USA and see how lucky we are..

.

Would suggest writing a letter of compliment to the doctors' department, and a card/biscuit to the nurses.

Yes I totally agree with you there , all the staff surgeons , doctors , nurses etc

Do a great job

I was rushed in got operated on a couple of hours later , was in over a week an made a great recovery

I can’t praise anyone in that hospital highly enough , the NHS worked for me
