Have been reviewing my profile, and one thing I have noticed is that TV and TS are still listed together as options under "would like to meet".

Is this not somewhat outdated? This is only my opinion, but they are completely different things, no? As I understand it, a transvestite is someone of one gender who likes to dress in the apparel of the opposite sex. A transsexual (even TS is a bit out of date, as the preferred term is transgender, I think)is someone who is of one gender and wishes, for their own personal reasons, to transition/has transitioned, or in the process of transitioning, from one gender to another.

Maybe those who "would like to meet" a transvestite or a transgendered person disagree?

You kind of highlight a reason yourself there are so many prefixes sought with limited understanding of what they actually mean not to mention whether you agree with them or not.

TS wish to transition, are in the process of transition or have already..

Transgender is someone who experiences discomfort on varying levels with their assigned birth gender.... ",gender dysphoria"

CD is someone who crossdresses purely for kicks and often makes little effort in their appearance a TV is mostly a higher effort CD, but there are some TVs who it isnt sexual and they have mild dysphoria, their kick comes from escapism of their day to day life

Genderfluid people who are perfectly content going about their day to day life presenting however they feel on that given day

Just saw this. I'm a Post Op Transwoman or whatever label it is. Nothing against Transvestites at all but it's not the same thing. Have emailed support umpteen times and they just ignore request. I'd love to be able to identify more clearly. Might stop guys asking me to use "it" on them. As "it" was last seen headed for a bin in Brighton, wastes a lot of time unnecessarily

I think there should be a listing for both separately, rather than combined. Would be more clear cut in my eyes ! Guess it would be a simple question to the person , and in some cases may be obvious from the profile, but I guess that would not always be the case.

Im fully aware of that, thats why my opening line says TS (or the more recent label transwoman) does the transitioning or intends to...

At no point did i say TS and TV are the same thing, quite the opposite in fact...

If you are going to quote me, use the full quote. Wasn't claiming you said anything different but had considered your original quote a very handy explanation. My reply went on to say have raised this with Fab and been ignored completely. It would be great to have more options.

"... a TV is mostly a higher effort CD .... "

I think that's an entirely reasonable term to describe me. I get a lot out of becoming Alice - socially and sexually - but my transformation is superficial and temporary.

That's fine, for me, and TV does the trick. However, I'm not TS and I can see how those - however far along their transition they are - would want the distinction made.

I think the OP is right. An update would be welcome for a lot of people.
