Never new .y biological farther.

Grew up with a step dad but he's past now and we never had that father son bond.

Mrs just made contact with her father after many years separated.

So she's so exited about finally having him around even though he's not in the best of health.

So agree with the op .

Make the most of it while you can visit you can't get it back when they have gone.

Lost my mum 2 years ago and try to see/speak to.my dad once a week , feel guilty as I know it's not enough, family life and working 70 hours a week make it difficult, but it's no excuse and should make time for my hero

Take him out to somewhere special. A football match or just a meal and a pint. I’m sure he’ll appreciate your time more than anything.

Mine was killed in a fight when i was five we were all weans all lifted out of bed during the night lined up like the Van Trap Family my mum left bring all four up herself i remember him clearly as if was yesterday even though i was five he was a gentle caring

Dad's only wanna see their kids grow up and be happy.

I have two wonderful children who are my life and even just a message from them is enough to keep me in a happy place when everything else is falling around me.

All dads you are their rock that keeps them safe, knowing they can take chances and your there to pick them up.

I received a text message from my daughter two nights ago just saying "love you".

That's all I need

They are my life, my destiny, my everything.

I am so glad to be a father

Mines is 80, sadly he sees the negative in everything and blames everyone but himself for things that didn't quite go to plan.

Luckily my own children see the polar opposite. I get on with things and take responsibility for things

My dad is in his 80s and very fit for his age but sadly has Alzheimer's and Father's day won't mean anything to him. He still has a smile however and his sense of humour is not too far away!

My dad was the only man to never let me down. I miss him a lot. He was my hero I just wish I hadn't taken so long to realise that.

I shall raise a glass to him on Sunday as he now drinks in the big pub in the sky.

But I have my dad who has always been a true inspiration and as well as that have my 2 children that when they utter the word “dad” to me always reminds me of my place on the planet.

In the modern age and the all to common modern spilt family dads are often vilified by the ignorant. Of course there are bad apples as in every walk of life but believe me every dad no matter how strong, proud,headstrong, and often neglected deserves their Father’s Day it really does mean the world to them

Respect and love the bones of your parents, regardless to what 'you thibk' they tried their best, they followed their parents and it is the past generations that create, values, respect and love!

Christ, they never had time to watch TV, never mind joint a fab swingers site... life has changed in so many ways!

Listen to Dance with My Father again by Luther Vandross... I will as I recall the majical, precious memories and feel blessed for the path he created for me.

RIP... always my hero!

I feel your pain, but he is still in there and I am sure days he still gives you that smile, a greta book to purchase is called 'contended dementia'... guarantee it will make your life easier and you will find new ways to reconnect with your father, bless him!

This was my first Father’s Day without my Mum. My Dad passed away on 16 June 2006 so his anniversary is always before or on Father’s Day which makes it harder.

Good to see all the proper men on here actually doing right by there kids I’ve a 3 year old was her bday Sunday and a 11 year old step son it’s a fantastic job !
