We're both going next weekend if the weather is what its supposed to be but would like a bit of info on how exactly to get there by car etc. We've read you can be naked from the car park onwards... is this the case? And is there anywhere round there to pitch a tent? Please help us lol. C xx

You can't be naked from the car park, few locals and children at the beginning, just walk along the beach till the sloping wall finishes and ok there few people have put tent up

Well that clears the car park bit up, so how do you actually get to the car park lol.

P.s we don't mean pitching a tent on the beach itself but nearby if there are any wooded ir grassy areas?

Got some info on getting there so its just the tent thing now. Had a look at satellite pics on maps and it looks as though there will be places to pitch down for a night or two

Right... confused about the"to be sure" types of comments. This either is an official nudist beach or isn't and if its official then the whole beach should be nudist surely? not just the part thats past a painting lol? We've read that this is an official beach?

It's official. most will wait until further along the beach to be considerate to other beach goers. It is a beach open to everybody, kids, adults, dog walkers, swimmers, motorbikers, maritime folks, and the legal wording on the NAC sign says "Clothing may or may not be worn beyond this point" but nobody has determined where this point actually is.

The beach area is south from Stevenston point to the Mouth of the River Irvine. Apart from locals who wander through the factory site onto the beach the only official access is from the Stevenston end. Not advisable to swim across the river from Irvine. Most nudists will stay around the middle area to avoid the stares and giggles. It is possible to drive from the car park to get closer to the beach entrance but beware the ground is very rough and damage could ensue. It is ideal if you want to camp close to the car though but no nudity in that area except within the tent. Have a great weekend. Give us a shout if you need ocht.

No idea what others do but we're going to sunbathe. I'd imagine most folk will be the same unless they arrange fun beforehand

That's when it just gets stupid, public beach and talk about getting it on.

Same laws apply where ever you happen to be. Would not hesitate to report further if I was to witness anything remotely like it, better it was taken off the beach altogether.

Well in fairness dogging does happen in lots of areas that aren't designated clothes-free. We're only going to ardeer to sunbathe like we said but we do enjoy outdoor fun... careful to make sure nobody that shouldn't see sees of course.

Hope you two have a ball when you visit, and the comment not directly aimed at anybody in particular. Agree it happens but normally a bit more secluded than an open beach. Lots of local kids visit too when they have nowt better to do so better to be wary.
