Why Do You Go To A Big Social ?

Jump to newest

What makes you go to one of the big socials when they are arranged. Doesn't matter where, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Dundee, Edinburgh etc... just why and what makes you want to go to a social.

I've been to a few and always had a brilliant time chatting to old friends and meeting new people, its always brilliant

I'm looking forward to the Summer Glasgow Social

I was on fab for 4 years before I attended any socials. As you say, it's a great way of catching up with old faces & meeting new one's too. I very much enjoy the social side to fab/swinging as well.

I was on fab for 7 years before I decided to go to my first social, which was in Dundee. So glad I decided to go, met some wonderful people whom I eventually met again and still chat with.

Great way of meeting lots of likeminded people at once in a no pressure situation. People are usually real on a night out so for me it’s another way of deciding if I want to take something further

I like the social side.

A great way to meet people in a relaxed environment, no pressure, face to face with no screen in between.

Always nice to put a face to a username and body parts

We were social whores lol going to just about every one that was on when we joined the scene (many years ago) ...been alot quieter last few years due to 1 reason or another but getting back into swing of things now ...love the atmosphere meeting new faces catching up with old friends and hopefully making future contacts socials can be a blast

I’m (honey) a social butterfly and love meeting new people so it’s great for me. It also means you get to see a lot of people and hopefully get to know potential future meets!

Started going to socials last year. They're a great way to meet new people and put faces to names. As other on here say, you can decide whether or not to take things further with them. Looking forward to the summer social too x

Can be daunting going on your own for the first time but those at the social will look after you always a great bunch of people

Always went to every social alone and meet tons of people for laughs n banter and just getting on with new people.

It's exciting and just take a deep breath and in the middle of the social you will be wondering why you were nervous to start off with.

I'm sure everyone, experienced and newbies will have a fantastic time

This

The hosts usually make themselves known & introduce themselves as well as others. You probably won't be the only one going on your own & for the first time too.

Back in the beginning there were maybe 3 big socials a year

Valentines

Halloween

Xmas

We used to go to them all as usually it was the only time we could meet friends and have a wee night out catching up as it was always a big thing with staying overnight and getting glammed up

Some really great 1s over the yrs and was a great way to put names to face you see in the chatrooms and forums.

Now there's many more happening all the time we are a bit choosy which 1s we attend.

I’m still friends with people I met at the first social I attended 6 years ago.

They are good fun and a great way to meet people you may otherwise not have met.

It gives me the chance to meet likeminded folk and suss out the genuine from the arseholes (mostly) and I enjoy a good night out where chat and banter and actually getting to know folk with similar interests where any conversation whether it be about family or sex doesn’t male people feel uncomfortable and the main emphasis isn’t on getting plastered and fighting with folk !

Nothing better than actually meeting people to chatting online ..have been to socials where I've met someone who online i didnt think there's much connection but in person was completely different and had a lot of fun ...and vice versa where I've thought hell yes then met at social n thought ehhhh maybe not

Somewhere nearby

I’ve never been to a social, but am hoping I can get to one in Aberdeen.

As well as putting faces to usernames it’s alway nice to meet new people, and like someone said, often people are very different in the flesh versus how they come across on here.

I don't attend socials for several reasons.

I have a social life so spend my free time with friends and family.

Local nutters who don't know the meaning of the word discretion (or the meaning of the word blocked either!!)

Fab is a tiny part of my life and if it all ended tomorrow I wouldn't miss the swinging world at all

Only been to one big social. The people we spoke to were very nice and the hostess was very welcoming but there were obviously groups of people who knew each other well so it was difficult to break into their company .

Looking forward to the social, I like to chat and get to know people but if I don't feel comfortable I would probably leave. However I am sure it will be a great night and by the end of it will have expanded my group of friends.

Sorry I thought I chatted to everyone at the Dundee social I went to which was about year n half ago. In fact it was my first social and felt I was passed about like a durty rag. .

Went home alone that night and that's my normal intention at every social.
