Get an all day pass for a tour bus can jump on and off at all the big spots, take shrooms get stoned. Eat all the pancakes you can eat. Then later if you want go to the red light district if that's yer thing! I prefer banging techno and going to the gashouder

Sleep

My (boring) advice would be to choose where you drink. Some of the bars are extortionate. Stick to "pubby" pubs.

Try the Hoppe pub....great wee authentic Amsterdam pub. And great for people watching if you can get a seat outside.

What are you interested in?

If you want to get stoned, don’t go to the coffee shops that look like English pubs.

If you want to go to sex show, the Casa Rosso is reliable, standard fare. The Banana Bar is quite the experience.

If you want to use a prostitute, go to one of the smaller strips away from the main red light district for better rates.

Visit the Anne Frank house. Go first thing to avoid massive queues.

Depending how much time you have, I used to love the Van Gogh museum.

A canal tour can be good for getting in a bunch of sights.

.

I used to be a tour guide there.

I looked at this place from a distance but never got round to it, had a few drinks in Cafe Belgique which was very good as was mostly just locals and was right next to the beautiful apartment I was staying at

As someone has already said it depends on what you're interested in. Amsterdam is a city steeped in history, lots of canal tours, bus tours and various museums that you might like. Check out trip advisor too.
