I'm looking for recommendations for a plastic surgeon.

My nose needs serious work - I can barely breathe through it which is my main problem but it needs some cosmetic work which I wouldn't otherwise bother with, I might as well get sorted at the same time.

Has anyone got any recommendations for a surgeon skilled in both fixing nose function and cosmetic work?

Preferably Scotland, possibly England, but not abroad. Cost not an issue as I want it done right, not bodged.

Thanks!

I work with a plastic surgeon. He does a wonderful job on scratched window frames....no idea what his facial reconstruction is like though

My wife has just had her breasts done from a fantastic surgeon called Ben Chew.

His portfolio is outstanding and he is ranked the top plastic surgeon in Scotland. He does equally good work on noses. He is a complete perfectionist in all honesty and his measurements and markings are like them have been done with laser precision

Feel free to Pm us for more info and although my mrs got her breasts done, we would be happy to show you before and after to allow to see his workmanship

He is based in Glasgow at a private hospital called Ross Hall

Hope this has been of some help

If your nose is so bad that its causing you health problems then this could be done on the NHS. Discuss with your GP who will be able to refer you to a good clinic.

Thanks for replying. I've gone down that route but to be honest, they were worse than useless, wasted countless hours of my time and then said my problems were due to allergies.

Erm, the fact that I can't breathe at all through my right nostril might be a clue. These people actually waste our taxes.

Attractive Couple:

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely check that guy out - sounds great.

Thanks for the offer of before and after pics - I must resist the temptation to ask to check them out for real - you know, just to be sure the surgeon's work is good.

oops

Exactly. That's a job for Ear, Nose and Throat. Rhinoplasty is just as likely to increase breathing difficulties if the underlying problem isn't dealt with first.

Type into Google;

spire-edinburgh-hospitals-murrayfield-and-shawfair-park/consultants/consultants-by-speciality/

THEN;

under treatments select;

"nose job or nose reshaping" (rhinoplasty)

Then click "go"

you will then get a selection of top surgeons in the field

.

speak to your GP, and request a initial appointment

(usually costs around £100 if self paying)

.

any questions just ask me.

There's a great guy in fernbrae hospital in Dundee..Mr Stevenson but he may be retired..otherwise Dr Larbi in Tunisia is excellent. I would personally recommend them both from experience

The fact that you can't breathe out one nostril suggests nasal polyps to me. I know about those. I have some, AND a deviated septum, and spend most nights unable to breathe.

If your GP maintains that the problem is due to allergies, you are within your rights to request a second opinion.

Hi all, thanks for the replies - much appreciated, especially those with actual recommendations based on experience.

I should have made it clearer - I did get referred to ENT, my GP was great but I got the impression ENT were trying not to operate on anyone.

This doesn't surprise me, basically the whole of the NHS is being told to do the absolute bare minimum to keep costs down. Chances are that if you are on any medication you are getting the cheapest, not the best, but don't get me started on the NHS...

Oh, and I don't have polyps. I have a deviated septum. It is very obvious and frustrates me that ENT are just fobbing me off.

I could complain but doubt it would help.

This isn't really an issue for a swinging site. It's a major life-changing procedure and consultation and all you'll do by asking on here is garner false platitudes/sympathy and get unhelpful information on the subject.

There will be countless non-swinging websites that can offer you far better advice/information on this. Reach out to some of those.

Miss Daisy - I'm looking to get information from lots of sources, not just here. I'm looking for local recommendations from unbiased sources. I know lots about my problem and the solution, I just need to find the right person to sort it out, so any information I can glean is useful, and so far, some of it has been.
