"Steve Clarke, mcleish has been tried and tested and failed"

McLeish had a 70% win rate in his first stint in Scotland job. That's not a tried and tested failure.

SFA are always going backwards. There's needs to be changed throughout.

Love it! Every time England play anyone then the Scots are Dutch or whoever they are playing against, then I see this result. The mighty Costa Rica playing at the mighty Hampden and beating Scotland. This must be one of the worst results in Scotlands history.... or was that the Peru game ? At least this result might shut the England beaters up . Scotland 0 Costa Rica 1

No tournaments tho and did u see who Scotland played against! Of course the sfa has to take blame for this. But this was a shocking result tonight an embarrassment

Midlothian

I honestly believe that if this team fails to qualify for the next Euros, which should be easy given the number of teams participating, then they should disband the national team and never play again. It’s embarrassing

They played against a team ranked higher than us. McLeish also picked a squad of development players.

I don't completely agree with the McLeish appointment but I don't think jumping on the "it's the manager" bandwagon helps us. May as well give him time to figure out a squad and judge him when games matter.

Clarke has been doing ok but he was terrible at Reading and WBA. Id take Clarke, McLeish and even Walter Smith's wife before I'd take Gareth Southgate though.

is that the Gareth Southgate that has taken England to the World Cup finals? Pmsl of course you wouldn't, Scotland can't afford the new blue passport

McLeish was probably the cheap option but I don't remember any outstanding candidates.

At the time I'd have preferred McInnes to get the job. Possibly Mackay.

No point sacking him after one game. Costa Rica qualified for Russia so they deserve a bit of respect. Maybe more than playing a team that aren't at international level yet.

Cost Rica’s in the World Cup Final, we’re not.

Hahaha ! I don't think the tartan army will be clambering for tickets then.

I imagine Heineken and Fifa will find a way to get that law changed. Or maybe just overlooked while the World Cups going on.
