GLASGOW

Hi all,

The Shoebox Management has created this thread in response to the recent media coverage of our events and one of the venues we use.

In recent weeks following the press story, The Shoebox Management have taken every step necessary to ensure that our venues & events are completely legal (as they always have been) and have satisfied all agencies including police that this is the case.

One of our used venues is factored not owned by GHA and after having spoken to them, again they are satisfied.

The Shoebox Management can confirm that Police Scotland attended one of our events recently and received the full assistance and compliance of our team & guests. The overall visit was approx 20mins and with no criminality found (only consenting adults) the party continued, with some of the guests having loved the police attention!

Having read some recent thread posts we would like to clarify that our venues are Legal & Safe, and all our team and guests are consenting adults having fun swinging.

Any genuine question posted on this thread will be answered as best we can, however we will not comment on opinion as we totally believe everyone is entitled to one.

Thanks for reading and happy swinging as always from The Shoebox x

Not a question, but nice to see you willing to answer questions or concerns that anyone has.

Some people (and larger organisations) would just act like nothing had happened and move on.

Anyone who has met anyone involved with the Shoebox will know they are the nicest and most genuine people you have ever met.

It comes as no surprise to me that Police Scotland et al found everything to be above board.

Can't comment on the venue and going on myself as I haven't been but the fact no criminal activity took place won't be good enough for some I'm afraid

Good luck in the future running of your venue!

I haven’t attending as of yet but this wouldn’t put me off as I have heard very good things. Extremely friendly and welcoming to newbies and friends of friends with a fantastic social side. Can’t wait until I get the chance to show my face there soon

Haven't been yet but the opinions of a newspaper or other media source isn't likely to put me off. Have read some of the reviews from fab members who have been and their views are more important.

I was there on the day the police visited and I can confirm that the police were very polite and quick to put everyone at ease. The staff and guests were anxious but co-operated fully and it was all over withing 20 mins. The police were satisfied that everyone was there of their own free will.

I for one will have no hesitation in visiting again as soon as work allows and I can highly recommend The Shoebox as a place to visit.

Keep up the good work and see you soon.

I have no interest in going to swinging clubs but its good to know that everything went well and the club was doing nothing wrong.

There is a stigma from a lot of people outwith the lifestyle about swinging but its just their ignorance or misunderstanding but when the news was announced that the place, shoebox was, I suppose the word is, raided, and they found nothing wrong, then this is great news for swinging clubs and swinging in general.

All the best for the future guys

I've been on a couple of occasions and like many others can verify that you will not find a nicer, friendlier bunch of people. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

I do not normally attend Clubs but I second what Peter has said above there is a stigma regarding swinging or anything of an “adult” theme in Scotland especially within the media

Nice one guys keep it up

Glad to hear that everything went as well as could be. I’ve never actually been along myself as of yet, but I’ve heard nothing but good things.

This episode definitely wouldn’t put me off and I hope to get myself along there sometime soon x

Keep up the great work xxx

We met at _heshoebox few years back and its down to them that we got together. They have supported us from day 1 in our relationship and we are know getting married this year. We cannot talk highly enough of the place, the people who attend and the people who run it, the parties and the atmodphere. Any one who has been will never bad name the place as its just not possible. Well done guys for opening a post on the forum for open questioning. Good luck and we will defo be back at future events xxx

Well done for starting this post!

Although slightly disappointed not to see the "regulars" from another club asking all the questions about your club that they usually band about when someone mentions going??

We have been a few times and can’t say a bad word about the place. We had fun, were made very welcome and the staff are great.

We will be back for sure

It seems the profile has gone, considering the fact they won’t be open that kinda makes sense but I’d hate to see it go, love the team there (lost Stevies number so I can’t message and ask haha)

Maybe admin suspended club type profiles As meets aren’t allowed at present as it’s now showing as deleted

I can still see the verifications they left me, so maybe that means it’s suspended rather than deleted?

I'm getting same, think everyone is. Anyone able to confirm if this means Shoebox is no more? Sad if so.
