What are people’s thoughts on going to the cinema on your own?

Ever done it? Does it feel strange?

No sure why it should feel strange, just do it who cares what anyone else thinks.

I used to do it quite a lot when the kids were really small. Get them settled, Mr would come in from work and I'd nip out to the cinema to have a couple of hours to myself. Saw quite a few folk on their own mid week.

Never actually been on my own. Though I don't see why it would be awkward. See plenty of people go on there own these days. If there was something I really wanted to see id go by myself.

I’m in the same boat, just never summoned up the courage to go by myself - I must change that, especially as there seems to be plenty of folk who do so themselves.

Just a background character

Have been going to the cinema alone for about 5 years, unless I'm taking my kid.

It's great on your own - no distractions and no one nicking your Haribo!

Don’t the movie characters get in free to the premier ?

I pretty much only go to the cinema by myself. Like others have said, I don’t give it a second thought. Cinema, theatre, gigs, restaurants, all great on your own. Holidays? Even better.

You see, eat, do what you want, no compromises.

I actually like it.

Pick a random non holiday during work hours and you pretty much get the cinema to yourself; no queues lol. It's awesome.

Knowing my luck, she'd have buck teeth, a gommy eye, and feet two different sizes. And a beard.

Glasgow

Used to go along myself a lot in the past, always easier to find a single seat in a busy cinema, don’t need to share your food, no arguing over what to watch, you don’t talk anyway in the cinema so don’t see the issue going alone

I actually prefer it, like going during the week when it is quiet rather than packed.

My friends are always late for stuff and I hate going into cinema late, so on my own is best for me.

Got an unlimited card, so go quite often myself if the other half doesn’t fancy a particular movie.

If anyone else in the cinema is judging a girl/guy for sitting on their own, then it says more about them than it does about you.

Although a wee Fab cinema meet does sound like a fun night.
