Of course he’s seen at least one or two in his early years, it was a Christmas tradition in many household... 38 years old too so I know he’d have seen them on STV while growing up (might not have watched as an “adult” but guaranteed he’s watched some)

It does not say I’ve not seen any of these movies, I said I’ve not seen the new ones.

Obviously I have seen what was supposed

To have been 1, 2 and 3 but the new ones which would have been 4, 5 and 6 is supp See to be 1, 2 and 3.

My question is, should I be watching 4, 5 and 6 first then 1, 2 and 3?

Quite a simple question of you read it properly

IF it’s that simple then you watch them in chronological order?

Year of release should be your starting point I'm my opinion

Why is this even a debate?

Chronological order. There isn't another option.

"Year of release should be your starting point I'm my opinion "

Normally would but people have said the fourth movie is actually the first.

There's at least 3 popular options.

Chronological order of release: 4,5,6,1,2,3,7,8.

Episode order:

1-8

Least spoilerish order:

4,5,1,2,3,6,7,8

The theory with the latter being you watch in original order from 4 up to 'that' reveal in 5, then watch 1-3 as a flashback origins story, then continue from 6-8.

Or for some 'fans' just watch 4-8 and forget the prequels happened.

Here's another option:

Just don't.

"And dont forget Rogue One

Yes it has a number if going by the time of when its supposed to happen.

The who point of the film, well main point, is to get the plans of the new death star to blow it up, so at the end of the film you see princess Leigh given the new plans on how to destroy the Death Star. (ffs I hope am right)

I'm sure it should be just after the 'Return of the Sith'

Rogue One is about 20 years after Revenge of the Sith.

Sith ends with the birth of Luke and Leia, who are grown up by the next episode.

Rogue One ends immediately before A New Hope.

This summer's Solo should be somewhere in the middle between Sith and Rogue One.

I would watch them in this order:

Rogue One

Ep IV- A New Hope

Ep V - The Empire Strikes Back

Ep VI- Return of the Jedi

Ep VII - The Force Awakens

Ep VIII - The Last Jedi

And we'll just ignore the abominations

V

Bathgate

I'd watch them as

4 - A New Hope

5 - The Empire Strikes Back

3 - Revenge of the Sith

6 - The Return of the Jedi

7 - The Force Awakens

8 - The Last Jedi

Watching Revenge of the Sith after Empire provides an origins story showing both Anakin's slide and the Empire's rise without the tediousness of 1 and 2 (there are only a few things that make more sense having seen them) and is a nice comparison to Luke's struggle with the dark side. It also helps add a natural break to match up with the one between 5 and 6.

I'd watch Rogue One at any point after Return of the Jedi, I don't think watching it first adds anything special and it's better knowing what their sacrifice is for.
