Maybe we could post in this thread to let other bikers know if any planned rides or events are worth going too.

Im in Dundee with spare beds if anyones planning anything up this way

And im hoping to be lots more active biking this year over the UK and abroad

Yep, keep a wide berth of both

both are far too popular and over crowded

If you must go to Skye, make sure you book accommodation well in advance

keep plenty midge repellent too

Possibly not exactly thrilling but I’m getting up to Shetland for a ride around, also will be doing the north 500 too.

I really want to do the alps and Nuremberg but getting the Street Scrambler around Scotland is def first on the list

Intend on buying a bigger more comfortable bike in the next couple of months, my sports bikes are fun but not for touring. Thinking a Honda NC750 or CB650.

Lucy will be looking at getting her full licence this year.

Hopefully going to ride to afew of the BSB races and get hotels for the weekend, as well as a couple of naughty weekend rides.

Did it there in the summer. Packed a tent into my Givi bag filled the panniers and set off with no real plan. Camped out in the forest not far from Newton Stewart great weekend

I can recommend the Outer Hebrides.

Calmac do a series of Island Hopper tickets.

I sailed from Obama to Barra, and worked my way up through the islands. Roads are great, scenery changes constantly. Just watch the sailing times, you may have some early starts depending upon how much time you want to take. Stornoway to Ullapool, and pick the scenic route home.

You are correct and yes the forest is known as The Dark Skies as there is no light pollution and the stars are visible every night

You are correct and yes the forest is known as The Dark Skies as there is no light pollution and the stars are visible every night

If it’s not on planned holiday route then I think this will be a definite separate to do thing

Arghh, need to get mine back on the road. Every years the same, new battery before taking it for an MOT, then taxed and insured. Hopefully get some decent use out of it this year, I was only out a handful of times last year.

Most probably if I can get some last minute ridiculously over priced accommodation. Heading to Stornoway on Tuesday for a few days. No room in the truck for my ‘real’ bike this time though. Had it with me 2 years ago and had a great blast round the island on the down time. The Lewis into Harris part is just stunning. Mountain bike for this run. Good wee trails round the castle.

Did the NC500 in September last year. Some great secluded beaches on the west coast for some skinny dipping

Gairloch over the Bealich na Ba is awesome too.

This year planning the island hop...Up to ullapool over to Lewis, down to Harris and further if the timings right then Uig to Skye, round Skye and then back home. Should be a good run over a few days or a week

After years of threatening it I've bitten the bullet, just passed my mod 1 mod 2 booked for a few weeks time bikes already bought cb650f so would love to catch up with a few of you

We also go to a few BSB meets never miss oulton park, and will definitely be at knockhill in the caravan though no bike, if anyone's there give us a shout
