Okay all, what is your preference, to have a single thread per club or to be able to post a thread for each date, moderator will review and go with majority, hopefully this will sort one way or another.....,

Prob gonna only be folk that actually goes to cjs that will post on this so the outcome will be a post for every date which will end up back to square 1 with 3 or 4 posts on cjs in the same forum?

Isn't that why it got shut down in the 1st place?

What about all the posts that come after the event? Quite often see people still chatting about the saturday on the sunday monday and if the thread gets closed then they would need a second thread for that ... i dont think leaving threads open and them getting bumped was ever the issue ..

It was a combination of there being multiple events in one week (it was open more over xmas holidays so more dates to talk about), newbies asking for advice on the place (not about a specific date) and people not familiar with the forum opening new threads rather than check what was already there ( happens with all topics not just clubs and no solution will stop this anyway)... it all resulted in there being more posts than usual and a site user (who has now left) starting an extra thread to moan about it

Costa and ourselves spoke with admin and they were very accommodating, hence why we have this opportunity to voice our wishes going forward. You are correct, people did discuss their visit to a club after the event just like socials. Since admin have been so approachable on the club issues i would be hopeful they would close the thread on the Monday after the event. Most of these type threads do fade away anyway after that time. Thats not official by the way just a suggestion.

Separate threads for separate dates. Just now the everything in one is two messy. Different convos happening in the one thread and if it’s a busy thread with a lot of reply’s info gets lost. We personally didn’t see a problem with how it previously went

The single threads are a mess, it doesn't work well at all for seeing who'll be going on a given date and any interesting questions are lost in them.

We don't get to the Scottish clubs often, but when we do we much prefer the individual threads to help plan our visit. The after chat is helpful, so I'd rather they weren't locked for a few days after. They fade away naturally anyway.

Does it really matter!!... There are multiple forums with multiple threads. You read and comment on what you want and pass what doesn't interest you.

The narrow minded forum trolls just got their knickers in a twist about a quantity of posts about on subject.

It's a popular subject because people go and like the venue alot and it's in Scotland so in the Scottish forum. Big deal.

Contribute to discussion rather than troll and complain about it.

But that's what some people can only do, Troll and complain, because they have nothing better to do in their lifes!!

'You' (people with this opinion) are asking us (Club goers) to scroll past numerous UK related threads that are of no interest to Cj's or After8 attendees!

'You' are asking us to scroll past and ignore!

Ok!? But... Why can't you do the same on the Scottish forum?!

It is a smaller scale, easy to ignore threads that are not for you!

Where 'You' do not have to scroll past lots of all over the UK threads!

Am I seeing this situation right?!

Separate thread, per date, and in the Scottish Forum.

I saw a dated one in the Club forum that was down to page 3 less than 4 hours later.

I know from experience that people don't generally use the search, and just look at the first pages. No I don't mean myself, I've helped moderate several message boards.

Although as iv said before I don't attend cjs and it dosn't bother me that much with 3 4 or 5 forum posts about the same thing?

We have all seen the posts about the same thing and 9 times ours 10 the OPS GETS slated for asking a question that's already been posted before.its the same thing really!

My 2ps worth is the folk that do want these multiple posts is really to see if it's worth going on the said date as they can see what talents going.

Perso, I go alone and am happy to see who is there on the night!!

However...Some people prefer to socialise with others before going or arranged to meet at the club or start chatting on here and take it from there once at the Club!

So many people using those threads differently!

You just have to skip past the bits you don't want to look at. Not everything that's in the forums interests me, so I just don't look at them. Doesn't mean that someone else isn't interested though.

We don’t go to Clubs so makes no difference to us whatsoever.

Just a suggestion but if there is a post for each date as the majority seem to want perhaps when either a “newbie” to the forum or an “oldie” who just hasn’t taken the time to read down duplicates a post people could perhaps instead of re-answering the question with a “ we are going” or “not this week”, with the link to the original post straight away and ask admin to delete as I can guarantee it will not take long for duplicates to appear.

As people have stated during Christmas it was a pain when 5 posts on the front page were about the same dates and could have been avoided.

Everyone please remember this vote is not about the bigger group of people forcing a minority group to do what we say because we have the numbers. This is about a larger group of people who hate the current format of 1 thread fits all and asking everyone else, hey folks would you mind just skipping past the club threads that dont interest you as im sure you do with lots of other threads. Hope this helps you understand our wishes . Social nights have great numerous people interested but would people want them to dissapear to the meets and events section of Fab ? Where they would need to look for a thread as opposed to it being right there in the Scotland forum .

apparently it changed to one thread it appears a thread with clubs mentioned called a vote (lol users deciding a companys policys) its all well and good allowing (I know most dont like this but sorry its exactly how I see it) advertisment but if you do this surely the same opportunity has to be open to all businesses .

I get that folk will say its to see who is attending and discuss things it dosnt change the fact its promotion of these businesses.

a few can remember the mear mention of a clubs name had that post sometimes even thread removed what exactly changed?

I dont expect this to be answered but with other forms of advertisment not allowed and clubs are is this not a bias

I think it depends on your definition of advertising Kola.

For me, it is the basic definition (sorry lazy copy paste)

Sponsors of advertising are often businesses wishing to promote their products or services.

Advertising is differentiated from public relations in that an advertiser pays for and has control over the message...

Here, ie those threads, the 'Business' has no control over what is being said.

In those thread the 'Business' does not comment and does not promote their business.

Come to Maxie's Club on Saturday, you are sure to have a great time -- posted by Max herself -- that is advertising and promoting

That is defo not an advertising for Tesco or promoting Tesco.

Each time one uses a brand name as a vocabulary in a sentence is not advertising... not promoting.

I was gonna start a post asking 'what's everyone's reasons for not going to a swinging club like CJs or After8s' but I changed my mind as it might have been looked upon a post about clubs, which it would be. Just wanted to see if most would have similar reasons but didn't want 'Another club post'.

I think just about everyone knows the name of the Scottish club and even Clubs close to the borders.

It is a subject like another.

So why not ask with being specific

So everyone can be happy please search the forum before you start your date thread so you don't duplicate it please and try not to start threads weeks in advance as it will take over the forum again.

I will leave the threads open for a couple of days after so you can all chat about the great (or not ) time you had

If I have forgotten anything shout out apparently it changed to one thread it appears a thread with clubs mentioned called a vote (lol users deciding a companys policys) its all well and good allowing (I know most dont like this but sorry its exactly how I see it) advertisment but if you do this surely the same opportunity has to be open to all businesses .

I get that folk will say its to see who is attending and discuss things it dosnt change the fact its promotion of these businesses.

a few can remember the mear mention of a clubs name had that post sometimes even thread removed what exactly changed?

I dont expect this to be answered but with other forms of advertisment not allowed and clubs are is this not a bias "

The club itself is not allowed to advertise events in this section.

This thread is for people who are using the club to chat about it, like the club discussion section.

That is defo not an advertising for Tesco or promoting Tesco.

Each time one uses a brand name as a vocabulary in a sentence is not advertising... not promoting.

Cant and wont go into why I believe some posts fall into the criteria you state as what constitutes advertisment.

Im not trekking through club posts to find out whats going on in other parts of the country when i want to find out whats going on in Scotland.

Are we adults or kids ???

Advertising is solely about promoting a business these posts are about coordinating night out with old and new friends. About giving newbies advice and allowing them the chance to arrange to meet others. Advertising is a happy coincidence and this is a site run for members for members surely it is us who should decide how the site develops and the one important fact is cj or after8 don’t start these threads and rarely comment on them so it’s not self advertising but swingers supporting swingers clubs there are only two three in whole of Scotland if you add in the shoebox covering a huge area so if people from north or south of Scotland want to know a night is going to be busy with people they are intrested in meeting. Who are we to moan about it. Most of them have to fork out a large sum of money for hotels so need to know

Kola is a glasgow social meet an advertisement , its people organising a PRIVATE event . You attend these events right. ? Would you be happy if it got kicked out the scottish forum into the MEETS AND EVENTS section of Fab where it belongs , where you need to go look through loads of events that suit YOU. Or alternatively lets keep the socials in the scotland forum and lump it all into ONE thread . So now glasgow socials , aberdeen socials , dundee socials are on the same thread , good luck kola going through that ONE thread figuring out whos going to what and when . a social is not a buisness and if clubs are allowed this since you seem averse to advertisment lets say spotlight should all folk looking to make cash on this site not be afforded the same spotlight.

Since Cj and the owners of after8 don’t put these threads up it’s the people who are going so those same people are not profiting in any way by posting or commenting on the threads regarding what night/afternoon they are going. I’m sure the shoebox and some of the organised parties are the same that if they don’t post it then they’re not advertising. I myself have posted ladies night’s, socials and parties at my home I ask for a deposit or contribution towards costs but I never profit from any of these. And if I’m being honest your pedantic comments on all things club related is beyond tiresome!!! We get it you don’t want to go! Don’t worry I’m sure no one will suggest/ask/force you to go so please for the love of ......

Can you just scroll by troll something else and enjoy the site and swinging scene like the rest of us are trying to do!!!

Kola it was NOT who shouts louded , the site offered it to a vote and the MAJORITY, ASKED it go back to the way it was. YOU never even complained before. It was 1 person who made the complaint then left the site while we ALL spoke about it. NOBODY shouted louder. Last point : the socials you attend ARE held in a Business and that businesses name get given to loads of members when you get the location of the social which can be quite a lot of people im sure. By your definition that must be advertising because the name of the place is mentioned. So what if its sent in a private message, not so private if 50 or 60 plus people are recieving it, or is it ok because thats something you enjoy going to.

its more that there appears to be no parity for other buisnesses who cannot be discussed.

im sure you remember a time that club names or any buisness for that matter in the forums was removed somethings changed and I struggle to see what.

I struggle even further to see how one set of buisnesses can be discussed while others cant

Only if they were in the wrong section. Admin inherited the club section when taking over the site, it hasn't changed since then other than Admin making a section for clubs to advertise their events in so they don't take over the forums

Though you never did reply about moving the numerous social threads, or other parties quizzes etc type threads, that turn up in the wrong section of fab ie scotland forums that many users just skip past if not interested in them.

socials are not about profit its not about furthering a buisness im sure even me and you can agree they are seperate models. I may start giving reviews on any new shops opening

You see it as advertising no one will change that so will leave it at that. Hope your not inconvenienced to much passing hopfully just 1 or 2 club posts . I shall happily skip past any social event threads to.

Clubs are allowed to advertise an event as they are listed in the club section. I can't see the site becoming like Exchange and Mart anytime soon with lists of adverts for anything and everything

However if you want Admin to change their rules you will need to ask them from the CONTACT button
