Think I've given 34 pints now - can't believe only 4% of the population donate. It's worth it for the teacake alone!!

I have a blood transfusion during a pregnancy so unable to ever donate again

I am an organ donor though so hopefully one day I can help in some way!

Used to inbetween tattoos although I think now it's a bit less time you have to wait until after getting 1

Although I got knocked back last time as my iron was low

Still had a cuppa and a biccy tho

Cannot recommend giving blood highly enough the feel good factor afterwards is brilliant!!

Ps...and it does not hurt 1 bit!

I don’t give blood. I’d like to but they have issues with my sexual partners and I don’t think telling lies on their forms is helpful. I really hope I never have to recieve blood.

Always have since I was able (apart from breaks for pregnancy etc) but got a new tattoo recently. I was pleasantly surprised to learn they’ve reduced the time you can donate to 4 months after a tattoo, it used to be a year.

Glasgow/Edinburgh

I have received a few transfusions over the years for ops. On one occasion it went really bad for me during an op and I had complications. I had to have a full body blood transfusion which in itself has risks. It saved my life so I just want to thank you all that can donate. At least 42 donors people saved me. Please continue to donate.Thank you xxx

I have had multiple transfusions myself. It really does save lives, I can not thank those that donate enough.
