Never really understood why people switch gyms , assuming it's a globo gym style , cost aside there is very little variation in equipment and facilities .

What do you want from the place ? Based on that do the research , most will offer a free session or whatever so go and try them , pic what suits you

Glasgowish

Never understood why people pay money for gyms when walking and running work wonders and cost nothing.

There are many good "free weight" gyms around with machines for specific isolated parts

apologies but I will keep quiet regarding the gym I use, its busy enough as it is, on a selfish side, I do not want other new members.

That aside, google is a good help, then you just need to visit and judge for yourself.

Most people who use gyms, also walk, run, climb and are involved in other sports, gyms are good for isolating and working specific muscles

Nuffield but I’m thinking of changing as I don’t think it justifies the £65 a month.

Yeah we both have multi access to pure gym. It’s got good free weight section, equipment is decent and it’s open 24/7. The staff in the gyms we have been too are always nice and friendly. Class options are decent too.

We jointly pay about 1/3 less than you are paying on your own.

That's the one we were waiting to join, but heard rumours that it's never going to happen so cut our losses and joined pure gym

We use the pure gym in east kilbride when we're up. It's not too bad when it's out of peak.

Extreme gym is super good but they've gone super elitist with their rules now

Totally agree it’s a great gym. One of the best I’ve seen for weight work etc

Aberdeen

Kippie Lodge in Aberdeen, choose it for gym, classes and sauna / steam room.

Been to lots of gyms and most are the same so it comes down to price, location and facilities.

Depends what you are using it for. I changed from commercial gym to small strictly powerlifting gym and very happy with the decision, despite paying 3x more.
