Does anyone know when the next aberdeen social is? Seems like there's almost nothing to do in this bloody city.

There's only been one social in Aberdeen in the nearly 3 years we've been on this site, mostly because I think it's such a small city where everyone knows everyone.

I think the last one was one I organised. It didn't really go all that well. Ended up with us stranded having lost a lot of people and the now ex-missus in tears.

And that is PRECICELY why I refuse to organise another. Its someone else's turn.

We went to a social a few years in Aberdeen, organised by Laine and had a good night.

We are lucky though, we live in Fife, so aberdeen isnt that much harder to get to than Glasgow.

Dont think that there are many swingers on this site that are in aberdeen area, or close enough that they want to travel.

I think if someone could come up with an extraordinary idea for a social, and held it in Aberdeen, then you would get people travelling and the catchment area for it would increase.

Shame really, as Aberdeen would be a decent location as there are a few hotels near to the city, which is always ideal for people walking back after a good night out.

I have a few ideas that would work well... But due to the catastrophic failure of the masquerade social I organised in March, no chance in hell that I'm going to do it again.

just do something simple then? It doesn't have to be the social of the century. Organise a venue and then set a price per person and let people know date etc. You don't people to dress up, or donate to charity, or organise a raffle etc. A venue, a DJ and lots of interested people

See the thing is, you can't expect every one to just pitch up the minute they hear a social is on. I have been organising socials since 2005 I think. About 10 appeared at the first one!

Myself and another couple lost a lot of money over the first 5 or 6 socials but we felt that persevering was the thing to do. Socials weren't very common in Scotland at all when we started them but now we know we are guaranteed about 100 people, if not more but we are 6 years down the line.

Everyone thinks that organising a social is like organising a night in the pub with a couple of mates but it's really not. It takes time, effort and a LOT of hard work.

0... Zero... Not a single person. It was arranged a month in advance, with plenty of ads on here and personal invites. Was aiming for between 5 and 10 other couples turning up, so invited 15 expecting most to not shot up anyway. Got a lot of good responces. Shame that nobody bothered even letting us know they wouldn't turn up.

I organised a social in Aberdeen in conjunction with the swingers club there. We had about a hundred to the social and 60 went on to the club for after social fun, more would have attended too but numbers for the club were restricted due to fire regulations.

Perhaps if you were to contact the club owners and do a similar thing you'd get the numbers to attend?

all i can say is keep trying

I run events on other websites and also massive retail events, and i can honestly say that trying to organise socials on here is harder than anywhere else and the socials on here are smaller!

Think aberdeen being so small has a lot to do with it, plus your always going to have lot more single guys outnumbering women, think that must put some off. Rekon couples have a better chance of hooking up easier

Might have a little think about this, would like to give it arranging a social a go and if i made a rubbish attempt at least we could have a good fun party with lots of fab friends i know

I know how hard it is though to organise and im pretty tied up with work, getting the barn finshed for winter but think i could attempt something for the New Year
