Some people just need reassurance as it’s a big step to go to a swinging club when you’ve never been to one before. I remember I thought everyone had to walk about in sexy under wear and there was an expectation to play even if you didn’t like anyone etc so don’t be too tough on those that need to talk about it before they take the next step.. x

Well I can say hand on heart I'm not advertising or affiliated to any club. I asked in my post as I will be new at this. I wouldn't like to do something wrong or make things awkward not only for myself, but anyone else there. However, your comment has now planted a little seed of doubt in my mind. I wondered if it was like a "closed shop" you know "clique" by you making that comment it's now got me thinking do regulars welcoming newcomers or are we looked upon as some kind of gatecrashers?

How on earth do you work that out?? There isn't a limit on the number of threads that can be posted. I look in a forum and I skim through, pick out the threads that look intresting and leave the rest. Is that really so difficult? The posts about clubs are usually well posted on, so why do you feel your desire to not see such threads is more important than those that do??

Yeah think of all the really important stuff it’s pushing down the thread list like “fuck, suck or chuck” or “send a boaby pic to the profile below”

Gee whiz! Some folk just love moaning!

I will admit that seeing post with who may be going to a club is handy to folk like me as a total newbie, and it's even worse as a single guy for the nerves. Means you have an idea of "names" and technically makes it easier to say hello.

There are currently 10 separate threads for the 2 clubs on the first page of the Scottish forum. A large number of posts are people simply saying they are THINKING of going.

Maybe a thread for each club is sufficient?

Nope. No interest in them.

I'm not slagging the clubs or those who do. My point is - I come into the forum to see what's being discussed and all I find are repeat threads week after week.

Aren't they all about different dates though. I posted one of the threads about the 27th, as I was THINKING of going. I have made my decision based on the responses to that thread. Job done. Also 106 people have posted on it, so clearly plenty people were interested in the thread. So why be so bah humbug about it?

And if you had interest in clubs you would perhaps have interest in the threads about them. If you aren't happy with the standard of threads posted then post something you find interesting. I can't see that your moaning is doing anything to make the forum better?

One persons moaning is another's valid criticism...

But if a casual forum user has a look at the Scottish room and all they see is CJs or After8 ads they are hardly going to spend too long in here.

New comers are very welcome as it’s good to get fresh blood in the place lol it makes it interesting every night I go to see so many new people at Cjs.. just go along and CJ will give you the tour and introduce you to the regulars who will put you at ease and if your nervous come and find me and moon-light in the kitchen we are always up for a chat x

But that isn't all they see, there are other threads. And they aren't ads, my post certainly wasn't an ad for CJ's. What's a 'casual' forum user anyway? Surely they can skip the threads that don't interest them as well as anyone else can. People have the same right as you in the forums to post what they want.. CJS is popular just now going by the amount of newbies I see as the premises are a lot bigger .. Just cause you don’t attend a club doesn’t mean everyone else has to Stay quiet about it.. if you don’t like it then post about something else rather than moan about other people’s posts..

Used to be that replys containing clubs names were removed along with posts advertising nights like you see now. not sure when the rules changed but they obviously have.

For a few this change is a pain as it goes against what they believe the word forum means.

some seem to believe forums should be fun my view is its an area for topical debate.

the forums are where they are as its what the majority want or those who shout loudest make it appear like the majority

If the threads are getting replies then it's not a case of whoever is shouting loudest, its just what some people are interested in. I don't agree that it's advertising, it's discussion that is relevent to the section of swingers that attend clubs, posted by prospective attendees not the clubs. I still don't see why it's a problem, look for the posts that interest you, ignore the ones that don't. If there aren't enough threads that interest you, then post some that do. Does anyone go into a supermarket looking for bread and moan that the supermarket also sells fruit and veg that they don't want to buy? Or do they just buy the bread and pass on the rest...

As already stated .

1 its an OPEN forum

2 How hard is it to skip past any club posts

3 If you post a topic that people want to respond to your thread will stay up near the top.

4 I agree with earlier commentor, someone never got what they asked for from santa.

5 If you dont go to clubs how can you possibly guage how much people enjoy messaging about thier future visit or past visit.

6 Its called freedom of speech, to much sensorship in the world these days. The word " snowflake" springs to mind here.

Just looked at the first page of Scotland forum posts. 9 related to various events in cj's, after 8, club noir. And as its Christmas and Hogmanay I feel that's not really excessive. 24 related to other subjects. Oh and 1 moaning about the 9 posts. Still plenty to look at and join in with if you are not interested in club events.

you miss the point I was making at one point the mere mention of a club was enough for that post to be removed. So no one could reply as the advertising of clubs in any manner wasnt allowed it seems for the past while its now allowed as ive said these areas of the site are where they are because either the majority want them like this or those who shout loudest make it appear its what the majoriyy want.

its been posted above about recieving pms agreeing or disagreeing to be honest it needs to be done in the forums for all to see or things cant be acted upon accordingly. If fab seen a trend that the majority of users were tireing of club talk they would do something about it (think about a well known chat apps disdain in the forums is that so much diffrent from clubs)

I think enough is already censored on here. And seems to me the reason for not allowing the chat app stuff is that it draws people away from fab to chat on there instead. Of course fab dont want that. I dont see how that is the same. Clubs are a big part of the swinging scene for many and so discussion should be allowed on a swingers site. If the 'majority' are tiring of it, like you say they aren't posting about it. Maybe because it's so damn easy to just pass on by the threads they can't arsed with. And where would you have it end? Lol are clubs not in direct competition also........if folk attend clubs they dont need tobe on fab to meet folk.

Very well said , sometimes the censorship on here is ott. Its nothing to do with who shouts the loudest, its more like people get annoyed when 1 or 2 posts seem to be able to affect lots of peoples enjoyment of the site by posting negative comments. Again why should the moderators or Fab change something 100s post into because 1 guy and 3 mystery agree ers say they dont want to see it any more ???

It simply amuses me that the same people post weekly and are obviously in the main part friends or aquantancies who could pm each other but then as we know, it IS an open forum. Of course he has freedom of speech. Which is pretty much my point. So do the people that want to disciss club nights. As for the same people posting that could pm each other, thats just crap. I have been to cj's before but my post was my first ever asking about a specific night. And at least 2 of the posts are from newbies looking for support. Why do you feel the forum can't be the place for them to find that? Thd OP is exercising his right to freedom of speech as you stated. Funnily enough so are those discussing club nights

There is a separate section of the forum for swinging club discussion.

Chat apps are not allowed to be discussed in the forum because people use them to scam.

Due to the forums about people wanting to attend clubs I've actually meaasaged them and taken them. Turned out to still be good friends over a year later. So the forums do serve a purpose as well.

Its individuals who start the threads who have no affiliation to the clubs as far as I know. It does give an indication of who is going.

Jesus. I wouldn't call myself part of any 'posse'. I've been to the club like 3 times in 2 years. Being from another part if Scotland I find the forum has been great for making links with other club goers, I dont think this will work same way on a seperate forum. I see my post has been moved, some club posts have, some haven't and still plenty posts about clubs on the other regional forums. Will they all be moved as well?

If I cant post in my regional forum about regional clubs because some people are not interested in clubs, I find that to be ridiculous. So I will just leave the forum if I can't use the site as I need to. What is the point?

If it was posted in the clubs section we’d never find it with all the English clubs that have events listed. This way it’s easy to find.

Narrow minded statement if im honest. I like attending a club but not so keen on cjs so to lable people a cjs posse i feel is another example of some narrow minded statements. Remember this whole thread started by a guy wanting people to stop POSTING about clubs. While HE has a right to choose any forum topic he likes , plz afford the same courtesy to the people who do like to post topics on clubs. OP if you dont like it dont read it , its simple. Why is that so hard to grasp . ???

Nope. Show where I said people shouldnt post about clubs? If you read my post my comment was the sheer volume of threads dedicated to people saying they were thinking of going to a club. My point was if you are going to go then just go. Why do they feel the need to post numerous threads on it.

Please don't misquote me. Thank you.

The posts usually relate to a particular night or event at CJ’s or any other club for that matter.

I have posted my intentions at times and been swayed to attend if others that I know are going. As a single female it’s handy know if I know anyone that’s going.

If posts have been removed it will be because they broke forum rules or they quoted posts that broke them.

If you spot a post that's in the wrong section report it. Mods sometimes miss things and rely on site users reporting.

Agreed !! But i think most people on Fab get off on swinger fun as it should be , sexy adult fun times. But a small minority get thier kicks by trolling other members posts or topics and pleasure of reading varied topics and find any excuse to report certain things , not because they are offended but simply to annoy others. Its a shame the mods cant see through these people although having had one or two unexplained timeouts myself clearly the trolling minority know how to work the system.

in the grand scheme of fab barely anyone used these posts. maybe a majority of who uses scotland forums now but that could be because other users tired of it.

If these posts have been moved will it really be so difficult to find in another section at a guess no.

club name should suffice to find the advertisments of the next night and whos going.

at a guess will follow the same path as no politics so will see again shortly

Maybe I got this entire thing wrong!

So Club threads now got booted to the general club discussions section

Will 'Socials/Parties threads' be booted to the meet and party section too?

Will the 'Hello am new threads' be booted to the introduction section of the site?

Where it all gets deluted with the rest of the UK??

Is this not supposed to be the 'Scottish' swingers community and have it all in a same section?! And have Scottish fabbers interacting with each other in one place?!

Shame, I had/have no issue scrolling past repetitive threads.

I agree! Would be nice but... Not everyone is 'logical' (only word that comes to mind) when starting a thread!

An OP gets excited and starts a thread and whoops!!!!...there is already one or two or three started! It can also be seen with the thank yous after a Social.

Maybe referring to the other thread and say to the OP to ask admin to remove could be a 'logical' and nice way to approach this issue

So far it seems the only threads that are moved are clubs, but I posted one on here that doesn't mention a club and it was moved to meet requests and parties, so could be all the socials on here will be moved soon as well. They should really, they can't single out some and leave others.

Yep as said earlier a few individuals can have a huge impact on the scottish forums . Until the OP highlighted a few club posts , who among us minded simply passing by the posts we had zero interest in ?, i think probably nobody minded. What makes this thread so unpallitable is the person that made the complaint is no longer on site. Let the Fabbers of SCOTLAND now look all over fab to find threads relating to Scotland among the huge numbers of the rest of the uk. Common sense never seems to prevail over the pc brigade ie its a club post so should be in a certain section or a social event so should be in another particular section. Chill out folks simply skip topics of no appeal to you.

By the maxim that folk seem to be saying any place that has a club should have their own area of forum. ie manchester forums......blackpool forums ......newcastle forums. also why not advertise other buisnesses. sorry find out whos going by dropping the name of your preffered shopping establishments with reviews on who you met and how great asda can be on vegtable only night. (Or any other buisness would get kinda busy if everyone did this dont you think).

I dont even think fab should allow a club section infact fab should maybe look at it as a revenue stream with any club wanting a mention in the club section having to pay an advertisment subscription. Maybe even booking tabs with % discounts for booking through fab.

Fab will do what it feels is right if thats moving it to club section and folk try to bypass it by using diffrent post titles be prepared for the ban hammer as your flaunting fabs rules

O o O oo

There seems to be a bit of confusion. The regional sections of the forum have always been allowed to have meet / event and club threads in them. Some people did complain not long ago so this forum was asked did you want all those type of threads to be put in the other sections with the chance of them being lost in there and the majority said they wanted them left in here, so that's where they stayed.

The CJ thing does seem to get a good few threads asking whether people are going or not or for advice so maybe as a compromise someone start a " Anything related to CJ's" thread where anyone can post to if needed? If that gets full up part 2 etc after that.

Any thoughts on that?

Sorry pringles, I guess we don't go in there much as Scotland has so few clubs, but....

at least we now know why there's a bit of discussion about where CJ threads should go lol

"There seems to be a bit of confusion.

Any thoughts on that?"

sounds like the best of a bad lot never saw a post asking folks thoughts on allowing clubs in regions.

would be helpful now though

Yep think the one thread is a great idea, that way people aren’t gonna get bothered n annoyed with the numerous threads

They've got no reason to be annoyed by a few threads that doesn't interest or concern them. And don't see them originating many posts, they only seem to turn other people's threads negative x

They obv feel they do have a reason... this way there’s no moaning and the thread stays in this forum instead of scrolling through loads of threads to find it in another one

This is a Scottish club so therefore it should stay on the Scottish forum and I'm with the others who say that cj's should have it's own "anything related to cj's". It makes sense after all x

Will it stop the 5 posts on whos going ?

I doubt it

Wouldnt say it bothers me that much to start a post but i did agree that multiple posts on the same topic gets a tad boring.

No it wont and why should it ? I and a lot of others like to pop into the scotland forum and see whos going to the club. Its anything but an advertisement its normal people looking to meet other normal people through a conversation that will possibly lead to a club meet. Similarly with a coffee meet before a play meet. Is everyone forgetting the troll that caused this issue left the site . He will start a new account and tell all the people that organise the socials they should be in the 'meet' section , i know a few of the people who dont go to clubs agreed with moving the club posts but will they agree to stop posting about upcoming socials ?? I bet that wont go down well. Where will it end ??? Scotland events and socials in the SCOTLAND forum for me.

The troll as you put it wasnt bothered about the club posts...it was a point about being 3 4 or 5 of the same post about the same thing?

You attend socials that are advertised in the Scotland forum. Are you going to complain if 2 or 3 others advertise thier socials in the wrong place also. ?? Should be in the meet invitation and party sections of Fab . Personally i dont mind but you seem to be very determined to support the origal OPS point about clubs so im interested on your viewpoint on socials.

Ahh but it was forcibly stopped by admin moving some of the threads , thats the point it really wasnt doing any harm as people could just pass over the posts they were not interested in . My question was how would you feel if all the social events chat were moved to a crowded uk section, or more importantly the organisers of these events, how would they feel . We all live in scotland and four posts a week on clubs or questions on clubs i dont feel is excessive in the scotland area of Fab

Bearded i dont get why we should cater for 1 or 2 that get bothered or annoyed with numerous similar threads. Like i say where do you stop bowing down to 1 or 2 soor pusses lol. Tired of seeing face pic friday or whats wrong with my profile or why cant i get a meet etc etc but they are hugely participated by other fab members so its not my right to say ahhh the same old threads, away and throw them in the uk forum section as i cant be bothered skipping past them to a new topic. Again if the topic is not to your taste theres loads of other posts daily to enjoy.

It isn’t our decision therefore I thought it was a better compromise as opposed to having to trawl through the numerous threads on the other forum. I took it from the mods post that’s what they were offering but as others have said doubt it will happen.

There are many posts on here that I don’t participate in or I roll my eyes but they don’t bother me enough to start a thread or report to get rid of them

I don't see how one thread would work. It would be full in no time and you're scrolling through endless threads to find out who's coming on the date you're planning on being there.

But seems most of you are happy to go for it, so guess that'll be the way to go then.

Shame 2 or 3 people managed to shove this down our throats against 100s of people who use the club threads x

If you read the context of the persons post I quoted you will see what I was answering.

However from a mods point of view, too many threads on the same subject is not allowed on any other section of the forum so will be put together anyway from now on.

Now all we need is someone to start a thread for all things CJ's and all things After8 and we are good to go

Anyone who uses the clubs want to start each thread?

CJs done. Grudgingly

Thanks for stepping in though Mod. This would've ended up a mess for sure.

See how this goes for a while, but swingers club discussions might still be an option, if this isn't clear or won't work x

Maybe when you post about Cj's or A8 you put the date in the heading like ( 30th Dec who's attending ) and if people are going along that day then all can converse on that post and once that date has passed it gets closed and a new one starts the same way that way the post will not get too too long and lose the subject matter .

Not really, there were MANY people writing same dates. I was just saying it was a good idea for the one thread, but let's run with what you are doing for now to see how it works. It works now for people talking about clubs in the discussion section , we are just trying to keep it in the Scottish section so they don't get lost for you all

The duplicate dates are more from new people, just finding their way around the forum and the clubs. Doesn't happen all that often, does it? x

Agreed thats pretty much the way it always was. And definitely agree it was mostly new people that were unfamiliar with navigating the threads that started/wanted club reassurance. That wont change. Mod cant you see from our point of view it was a real minority that the multiple threads were mentioned by. Most people that will use the single thread idea already new how to skip past threads they had no interest in anyway. But happy to use 1 thread idea but a week from now my guess is back to the norm lol . Ps mod did not know you guys even responded like this ? Nice to see an open discussion on an issue.
