Kids Xmas Presents

I don’t get this one my mate and his wife wrap presents up from Santa to the children from him and they are only young surely that’s spoiling the magic?.

When I was a child all my toys, presents and clothes etc were all laid out from Santa only presents from other relatives etc were wrapped up.

Thoughts please.

Same here, in the 'olden days' Santa left presents unwrapped and laid out at your side of the sofa. The modern way is to wrap them so the child can feel the present, guess what's inside then rip off the paper to find out.

I do think that the wonder of seeing what Santa left is definitely lost when gifts are wrapped. But look at any Christmas card with Santa on his sleigh and you'll probably see the presents wrapped.

Mine were always wrapped and I wrap all mine.

Not wrapping would spoil the suprise and excitement of them opening them

And in France, Santa (Papa Noël) wraps all the presents.

Love seeing the kids guessing and their faces as they unwrap. Priceless!

When I was young, I would never have dreamt that Santa would wrap presents. We each got a big paper Santa sack of toys in our own part of the living room, none of them wrapped. To me it was completely magical.

I've had this conversation loads of times! It seems to be 50/50. Some wrap. Some don't. I'm the santa doesn't wrap brigade and I tell you what, you have no idea how grateful I am for that tradition being passed to me! It was bad enough building the fecking toys at 2am without trying to wrap loads of presents lol xxx

My presents were always wrapped except for large things like a bike.

Maybe only the good boys and girls got wrapped presents from Santa

On Christmas morning we always found a pillow case at the end of our bed stuffed full of unwrapped pressies from Santa. I believe unwrapped from Santa is quite traditional. This was obviously only to entertain us until our parents woke up, then we could dive into the wrapped ones under the tree!
