Doubt very much an insurance job, not with guests in hotel at the time. If having a guess I'd say its either electrical or , at this time of year, some twat with too much to drink and deciding for whatever reason to give him/herself a wee buzz by starting a fire

One person has died. Family with baby in hospital.

I am near Cameron House and we heard all the fire engines blaring to the scene this morning.

Not far from me im pretty local, heard all the sirens going past this morning.

Aparently its an xmas tree that caught fire and the local story is that there is 3 dead.

Stayed there on a couple of occasions and been to a wedding there lovely hotel! Buildings can be replaced people can’t though.

Never a good time of year for stuff like this to happen but so close to Christmas isn’t good

Was informed about 10 years ago the owner who was 90 lived not to far in the village of Luss. I think at the time Cameron house was at 45 years of their 99 year lease. His kids might have taken it over by now so not sure where they've been living.

I can't see it being an insurance job.

Such a shame. Stayed there twice through work and conferences and I t’s the old house itself by the looks of it rather than the new extensions. If I remember there are proper open fires in these areas as well. Completely horrific that folk have died. They were a couple on Christmas break according to the news today.
