Anyone else getting tired of all these scandals?

Guys must be starting to get scared about even chatting to women now

Firstly there is far too much victim shaming for genuine victims of sexual assault to just grow a set and stand up for themselves

However it does seem like every woman and her granny is "offended" at the moment and I'm disgusted that the men accused are named in the media so freely, what happened to being innocent until proven guilty? I'm all for women finding solidarity and support and being able to speak up years after the assault. But do it to the police not the papers.

To an extent yes lots of it is bull. There was once a clear line where work place banter crossed over to sexual harrasment and when the line was crossed it would be dealt with assuming it was reported of course. But now due to so much exposure the line has been moved and i dont mean the banter/ harrasment line . The compensation line has moved and the dollar signs are there now. People lives are being ruined for something that was on many occations in the past laughed off as workplace banter. Dont misinterpret this view, if abuse or harrasment genuinely took place then im all for the perpetrators being dealt with as harshly as possible. A man KILLED himself because he touched a females KNEE many years ago and suddenly hes lost his job and was under investigation. Perhaps he done worse and knew what would come to light but nowadays its sack first investigate second due to media exposure and corporate self preservation.

Agree, there's a time and place for such behaviour, and a lot of it depends on trust/respect.

Similarly, few years back, we had a rather flirty/sly Italian guy at work who would openly ask female staff the color of their knickers etc It was laughed off as a joke and the women thought nothing of it (probably because they enjoyed the banter).

Year or so later, another guy made the same sort of jokes, but he came across as "creepy", so he was reported for harrassment and got disciplinary.

This is spot on . You are absolutely correct on the rapport between the parties involved and easily understandable how one person gets away with it and the other dosnt. But whats happening these days is the guy that got away with it as he wasnt being sleazy or harrasing is now being brought into the equation as a sexual predator which is so far from the truth.

The world has gone mad in my opinion, all these scandals coming to light years after the fact, don’t get me wrong if abuse has taken place then they should be dealt with accordingly.

Saw something other day about a parent wanting to ban sleeping beauty because it promoted inappropriate behaviour. We’ll be scared to look at people soon let alone have a bit of a flirt

The sleeping beauty one is a bit ridiculous, also heard Rapunzels old man described as "a bit Joseph Fritzel" for keeping her locked up

And if anyone accuses Pepe le Pew that will be my childhood officially ruined
