Any painter and decorator's??

I need advice and what better place to get it than a swingers site

I'm painting my livinroom (I've just moved in) but I seem to be making it harder than what it actually is. Do I paint the walls then do the cutting in or do I cut in first then the walls? I seem to be going over the same bit cause it looks patchy!

Cut in the 4 walls

Paint the walls with a roller

Cut in 4 walls again( sometimes you can get away with cutting in once)

Paint the walls with a roller again

That should do the trick

Ya dancer, sommit I can say I'm good at and gave the proof, woohoooi

Yip cut in first then use a roller on the walls. Depending on type of paint and if room is empty you can cut whole room in then roll but if paint is fir example a diamond mart you'd be best cut in one wall then roll it to a finish.

Happy painting n get the tunes on while you do it.

Ps is the cutting in looking patchy or the rolled walls as it might nit cover with one coat so it may need two coats even from a painter and decorator

I don't the glossing and ceiling. I just feel there must be an easier way than this! I really can't be arsed going over and over the same bit haha I need heeeeeeeelp!!!!!

The cutting in looks lighter than the actual wall!!

Different weight using brush than roller. If you cut in first and then roll then the cutting in may dry quicker

Wait till it's all painted and look at it when it's dry.

Ffs just have a beer while cutting in lolol the room will look way better once you have a beer and start on your second beer

Invest In a paint pad(bristle one not foam) a lot quicker in less splatters than a roller n uses less paint...cut in first

If your cutting in isn't great... do all the woodwork first (skirting boards/door frames) let it dry, use masking tape on the woodwork.... then cut in your emulsion on the walls

Also allow it all to fully dry - wet vs dry paint will make it look different too.

Wait till its dry and see what it looks like in daylight and if needed give it another coat.

I do all my own decorating. I love t. It's very therapeutical.

Hate the thought of doing it but once I start I really enjoy it

With paint as anything you buy cheap you buy twice. A good 2"(realworld size not fab size) bristle brush for cutting in . Short /medium pile roler. Clear out furniture if possible if not cover with painting sheets in centre of room . Start From the top down . Ceiling emulsion 2x coats. Walls again with ceiling paint as an undercoat this makes the finished colour pop. Fill any cracking or screw holes before undercoat. Caulk for corners and spackling for bigger patches.

Crack open a beer turn up the tunes and crack on with it . Happy painting chick.

Alternatively organise a painting party with guys who know what they are doing
