Yes folks - the "tail end" of hurricane Katja has blown over from USA and will hit Scotland tonite.

Met office amber alert out for central belt - valid from 0300 until 2400 Monday.

Be prepared and hey - be careful out there

we are NOT in the eye at the moment - this is the calm before the storm. gusts of 70mph even 80mph forecast.

expect transport disruption and falling trees/masonry etc

so much for my "be careful out there" - I got clobbered by a falling tree branch -one second either way and the main trunk would have tsken me out! sobering thought
