fcuk me rite off how people we money ben the rules to avoid taxes i work full time if i do overtime tax man rubs his hands and says il take that people using food banks etc yet these people who have millions grudge paying tax

You do know that anybody can have an offshore account.

It's only profitable if you have substantial earnings.

So the average working man would be pointless setting one up as his outgoings would leave very little to gain interest on.

If I was a multi millionaire I would have my money offshore also.

It's not illegal.

If I had their money and was taxed as heavily as the UK government taxes them, I would emigrate and bank elsewhere.

Why do you think these people no longer live on the UK or if they do it's for less than 6 months out of the year.

Bono isn't British by the way and I believe he spends most of the year on tour so why should he pay tax to the UK

who does some over time an tax man takes it away if i only done 20 hours a week im no able to get working tax credits unless i do at least 30 no say for genuine reason i can only do 20 hours a week i may as well risk signing on to this country is fucked up unless you have plenty money

Its not just the rich who bend the rules. Look at self-employed tradesmen eg. They are notorious for not declaring all they earn because many people pay them in cash.

I know a few who pay around £100 a year in tax and they are making a small fortune.

No that's different.

There is no conscription in the current Armed Forces.

You join under your own free will and are under the clear instruction of your job description.

Yes they put there life on the line but that was a choice they made themselves.

I know B is ex Marines and my oldest son Is now REME.

The pay my son now gets is rather substantial compared to what B was getting 10 years ago when he got out.

The bastards put you on two weeks leave during 6 month tours so you have to step foot in the UK to pay tax.

with army wars etc fact is if you have millions you can bend the laws of this land a lot easier than a working class guy in the street

people like fireman nurses police army all under payed in my view no the same chances to bend tax rules for them

with millions these same people bang on about what they give to charitys but a good % of them claim it back with help of good accountant

Slightly off topic but the wee TV licence guy came to our door a few years ago. Hubby refuses point blank to buy one. I opened the door and the wee guy launches into his speech. I say. " Hold on a minute pal, can't hear you, need to turn the tele down..... "

You are spot on and as you say anyone can have one, I had an account in Jersey 25 years back but interest rates were much more advantageous then, you still had to declare interest & income when doing tax returns, some people did, many others did not.

But probably if you had their money, you may do the same. Think if I had millions I’d be tempted.

yet you miss the point max for this yr £40000 (govt dosnt pay the whole contribution on this either) to the rich this is chump change.

Some interesting reading on the office of national statistics website and hmrc, etc. About 70-75 percent of income tax raised in the UK is paid by 3 percent of people, so maybe there's a bit of a reason there.

Here’s a knighthood for “driving a car fast round in laps/loops”

Why not give knighthoods/dame-hoods to people who ACTUALLY deserve it like all those life savings doctors/nurses/surgeons etc who save life’s on a regular basis.

What thanks do they get, probably like:

i earn an pretty average salary, but i have two swiss bank accounts and one offshore fund.

anyone can do it, you dont have to be lewis hamilton.

but if youre happy to pay over the odds and withdraw your wages from the bank of scotland, you cant really complain about the super rich keeping some cash from the government
