Would you meet without seeing face-pics ?

I have two (related) questions.

Firstly: A couple recently sent me an unsolicited "interested to meet" (socially, I think) message, but said they won't put face-pics on a website. My profile already says I won't meet without seeing face pics. It's already hard enough for single guys with all the prejudice on this site, so I swithered for a while. But precious few folk, if any, would ever extend such a 'blind-date' concession to me; so tell me, should I give anyone that concession or stick to my guns and insist on face pics ?

Secondly: I'm amazed at the number of couples who refuse to show the man's face, even privately in messages. In a sense, they too want a 'semi-blind date' ! Again, should I insist on seeing the man's face, or be satisfied with seeing only the woman's ?

It's amazing, we've been having this very same conversation today. We will sometimes meet single guys, specifically those that say "Can Accomodate" on their profile and only those that are happy to provide a picture.

Due to peoples jobs etc i fully understand the desire not to post face pics on a website, but we have been asked several times now to meet with males (plural because it's happened more than onece!) who say they don't have a pic on here, they don't have a pic on PC, they don't have a camera phone and therefore can't send a pic.

So, for they guys it's a definite no thanks. And then we get the "Can Accomodate" suddenly having lodgers, work done in the house, relatives staying over etc etc etc.

Straight and simple, we can't accomodate as we have a son that lives at home and is almost never out in the evenings. We don't say on our profile we can accomodate. We've had too many last minute call offs to start the Premier Inn just book it and hope they'll turn up m'larky to be bothered with that.

But, hey ho we live in hope

never met without seeing or sending a face pic. i apreciate everyone wants to be discreet and protect their privacy but surely if you trust someone enough to meet them then you must trust them enough to exchange pics

Pretty much what everyone else has said, we'd not meet without a face pic (and would prefer to talk on cam first too).

We don't get why seeing the guy would be important unless you were bi and planning on playing with him too. Maybe they just send the girl's face pic as that's who you're interested in?

We meet without seeing pics !

We meet in a pub, have a drink and a chat and if they are not for us and vice versa, we part company as friends.

And if we are all attracted to each other we move on to fun, either that night or another.

You need only view a photo if

1. you shag without meeting socially

just turn up at location and do it.

2. You do not need to socially click

with the person, personality does

not come into it.

Personality is just as important to some people. I met a drop dead handsome man, with a bulge to die for, but he had ZERO personality, could not go there.

So it depends on your viewpoint.

I do not think that someone should ask you to provide a photo without them sending you one first, especially if they contacted you.

Of course you need the attraction if you are going to fuck someone, but do you actually need it to meet in a bar/ cafe when you will judge if there is the attraction.

some photos that are sent are donkeys years out of date and some have only a slight resemblance.

Then there is the ones that take a great photo but not so good face to face.

totally agree, why would we waste our precious time going to meet someone we have never seen before to find out we arent attracted to them?? makes no sense to us at all but if some ppl are happy with that so be it ... defo not for us!

Up until a month ago I would have said no way, never meeting without seeing a pic 1st.

Then I was let down for a meet.

So had a rant on my status (as you do )

And I got a message from a lovely guy, but no pics on his profile.

But I had the meet head on.

So I agreed to meet. Was only a lunch meet, so had nothing to lose.

So glad I did. Lovely man.

Would I do it again? I dont know. Maybe that was my only lucky 'blind fab meet'.

It's not about attraction vs. personality for us - it's a safety thing. Neither of us would feel safe meeting someone we hadn't seen before.

It also helps you recongise each other at the initial meet.

We once met a couple had seen her not him... After chatting for a little while we met up for a drink and who knows....ermmm let's just day we got a shock.... He was Indian and I am really not attracted to Indian men.... So moral of the story is at least exchange a pic lol....

Agree, think it would be quite dissheartening for people to strike up a nice mutual understanding via messages etc and i think people recognise when they are in tune with each other in terms of likes and laughs and then what? You see a face and suddenly they are'nt fun, nice to chat to?

Just had an approach from a couple, who were interested to meet me, but when I asked for face pics they said my desirability had dropped from 90% to 10% simply for doing that !! What is it with people, couples especially, who insist on seeing a single guy's pic but won't provide their own ??? Why is all the suspicion in one direction only ?

I despair .
