"Does anyone enjoy wild camping? X"

Yup, us and the dog are all set up for four seasons. We cycled straight from the office midweek last year to Rowardennan, hiked up Ben Lomond, camped the night and rode back to the office the next morning.

It facilitates some great Back Country snowboarding too!

A few years back gent tried to build 100 wild huts..petered out at 21....pity some of the urban locations were outstanding.

bivvy bag n basha are always the best way to wake up to midges trying to eat you alive..

There is a very discrete ruined croft on east ben lomond that is great for overnighters..

20 years ago, a group of us on bikes went for 3 nights in the highlands, stopping at night, building a fire and sleeping rough by the fire,

we lasted 2 nights and gave up on the third

"Never been, always wanted to try a bivvy bag though "

A bivvy bag only works well with a roll mat for insulation, and a basha for the wind and rain.

In saying that, nothing nicer than waking up near Dunkeld, with a frost covered basha on a bitter cold sunrise.

Shame the rain/snow combination has prevented any nights out so far this year.

I love it. I have a three man tent which makes a perfect tent for one. Even packs up small, and fits in my bike luggage.

I can fit in a small stove and an inflatable mattress. I've a tarp that works as an awning, and a kids camping chair. Wet wipes work as a morning freshen up.

Take nothing but pictures, and leave nothing but footprints/tyre tracks.
