Known as the creator of "Night of the Living" dead, and its many sequels, Romero has died at the age of 77, from lung cancer. His original movies still stand out against the copycats and remakes, and it is thanks to the apocalyptic world he imagined that we have "The Walking Dead". RIP, Mr Romero.

My girlfriend read out this headline, just before we went to bed.

It's a shame it happened, but he had been kinda "frail" looking for many years. His oversized specs didn't really help.

There is a rumour that he penned several other "Dead" films, so it will be nice to see if they get released. They supposedly tied into the Diary/Survival films more than the original series.

Personally given that Snyder did such a good job of the Dawn remake, I'd love to see him brought on-board with any other Romero penned films.

Heard this too. Would be a good tribute done in the right way

Hopefully they can bring Snyder or Guillermo Del Toro on board for any remakes/future Romero projects. I'd hate to see his work butchered by someone like Eli Roth. So sad to lose the masters of horror go, these guys are responsible for so many nightmares

We'll be watching Dawn tonight in memory. In every interview and documentary he always seemed so full of enjoyment and very humble despite reinventing what would become probably the most popular horror sub-genre.
