Anyone else on here with body issues resulting from scars. Hard enough out there without the judgement you feel you get when they are seen. Not that that's anyone's fault but my own just would be nice to know I am not the only one on here

Can you get tattoos over them? Not that I'm saying you should hide them. But if they bother you and they belong in your past, cover with a design that reminds you how far you have come...

I dont have any myself OP but i do have other body hang ups that can make me self consious about what others think ... stretch marks on my thighs, psoriasis on my side and legs ... that kind of thing

Best way to think about it is pretty much everyone on here will have something they regard as a flaw on their body wether it be self inflicted or not and they will no doubt be worried about how others will judge those flaws you just have to promote the bits of yourself you do feel comfortable with and focus on those instead of letting it get you down and holding you back

I suppose depends on where they are and can be easily covered or not.

Have a friend who is self conscious about tummy and thus will always wear something that covers it even if everything else is exposed.

Possibly easier for a Lady with lingerie, opera gloves etc

A blend, perfume and alcohol free base moisturiser, add to it a few drops of vitamin E oil, few drops of avocado or jojoba oil, mix well, it works well on psoriasis and eczema skin.

Feel free to message if you need help x

I have lots of people I know who have/are self harming.

all you can do is be there for them when they need it. Its only a manifestation of a bigger problem which I would advise them to try anddeal with but It makes no diffrence in howI treat them or view them

We all have bits of our bodies that we're self conscious about, however, OP your scars aren't anything for you to feel ashamed about. They're part of what makes you you & if people don't like it then they're not worth wasting your time on.

There are lots of ways you could cover them like jewellery, makeup or tattoos but tattooing will depend on the scarring. Go speak to a couple of reputable tattooists for advice first who'll more than likely have experience in scar cover ups xx

I personally view scars as part of a person, same as stretch marks. If you have been through hell and harmed yourself but come out the other side, then surely your scars should be seen as a mark of pride. You faced it and beat it. I understand that not everyone understands though and its a battle in itself explaining over and over. Which is why I suggested tattoo cover ups. I wish you well xx
