My thoughts go to all those who've lost their dad I hope that they celebrate a special memory of them . Mine will get a card and god knows what else he's a bugger to buy for .

I wish my father was still here to spoil but he always hated being fussed over on Father's day. He used to say ",You show me you love me every single day of the year. You don't need a special day to do it on." I think he helped me see these occasions for what they are. Often, but not in every case, empty displays of affection for other people's benefit. I realise this is probably a singular view..but it's mine.

The day is definitely more commercialised than it used to be

Im lucky my dad is still around to spoil and I can still show him how much he is loved and appreciated. I agree it doesnt need a special day to do that but with busy lives maybe we dont do it enough.

At 85 he has more than enough of everything he will ever want and need so I've written him an IOU for a load of his favourite home made biscuits and cakes every month. I know that will please him more than any other present I could buy him.

That's a lovely thoughtful gift and it'll keep coming and give him great pleasure I'm sure. It's very caring. Lucky pops!

Happy father's day to those who are lucky enough to still have their dad's with them.

And all my best wishes to those who, like me, mourn the loss of their dad, grandad, partner.

Much love x

I dont make any fuss about it.

For two reasons, first it's commercialised bollocks and second, my dads a dick ( are'nt we all)

My kid doesnt bother either, (for reasons see above)

Of you have the sort of relationship that matters, cherish it, not just today but every day.
