Well you're almost right as it starts off as a neutral grain spirit at around 97% abv before you distill it with the juniper and other botanicals. Think there is only one on show that uses potato based neutral spirit.

most vodkas arnt potato the best vodkas are grain and the best vodkas are tasteless and odourless which makes for the best gins as there can be no taint
