or difficult is it to arrange a forum drinks social?

Anyone with experience on said matter your input is more than welcome.

Think I want to get involved in this side of Fab more, with my contacts and organisational skills I reckon it would be a piece of pish, none of the shitty reserve list crap, which probably makes folk feel unwanted, anyone who wanted to attend could do and for free of charge fs.

Sad, twisted and fucked up indeed but from a business point of view, what's even worse is why would venues have a problem with swingers? Oor money is the same colour as everyone elses fs.

It's not like we're gonna get naked and start an orgy in front of the masses fs, its an organised social no with paying customers, no business I know and believe me I know many, particularly in Glasgow, would be daft enough to refuse the numbers fs.

Keeping the riff raff and trouble makers at bay that's where the problem is gonna be, anyone got any suggestions for this? Or is that really what a reserve list means, is it a fab friendly way of saying not tonight Josephine? fs

Phew! Am not Scottish lol

Useful card to take out at time

Newsflash! Am not perfect and can be a dafty! But I accept it and give my honest opinion

There's space for everyone who wants to organise an event they think will appeal to the people of Fab.

The Scottish scene is limited, so why not support people that are trying to do something instead of having wee digs on this or on that.

Do your own thing!

People have a choice to attend an event or not after the details given to them.

Personally I respect people trying to organise things because there is a lot of work behind the scene.

My opinion anyway

Perso when I have a reserve list it is to control the numbers for the venue or the ratio male/female. And I keep in touch with the people on that list to keep them up to date so they know they are just not people I ditch on the side

Why keep moaning about it and not put your plans into action?

If it's a free social then you find a big enough bar, gauge everyone's interests, date suitability for everyone and take it from there

Glasgow

Having worked and ran city centre pubs and restaurants for most of my adult life I would agree with most of your points.

No pub is going to complain that the party of 40 has now turned into 60, more money over the bar. However for the person organising it, it's their prerogative to organise it as big or small as they like.

As for sabotage, you're probably right most pubs wouldn't give a toss that it's a bunch of swingers, it's the swingers that may or may not have a problem with the pub and its staff knowing as most want discretion. I've never understood the need to try and sabotage a social, god we've even been accused of it ourselves which was laughable as we actually knew the venue owners so we wouldn't have been advertising the fact that we swing.

Hope your night goes well

K x

Amen! And as variety is the spice of life (and rather apt given the swinger lifestyle) the more people organising events with good intentions the better, catering for all tastes and preferences

Hmmm .....

People put in a lot of time and effort arranging socials & events.I would presume time consuming and chasing for payments must be frustrating.

These people should be appreciated for their hardwork.

However....over the years ive seen many a social fall flat on its arse at the very last minute by people who feel the need to sabotage it.Inturn it has left many organizers in tears.

Why do people sabotage it ?..

Many reasons, but the most simplest answer is ..because they can.

Well done to the people who have arranged big socials and been a success.

But ,something worth noticing the increase of fake profiles on here these days you would be at a disadvantage,a massive risk of someone breaching the rules of discretion.

My advice would be to arrange a smaller social with people you consider to be genuine, trustworthy and be selective.

If you are posting a social on the forum.

DONT cherry pick who you want to go or not go if they have genuinely shown an interest in attending.

Good luck ..because youll need it .
