Just booked 2 nights in a hotel right in the centre for £119 for two people from the above website. Strongly recommend.

Also look on Groupon and Wowcher for hotel deals

There's a place at Haymarket Station called Tune that's fairly cheap.

It's a similar style as EasyHotel and you only get extras if you pay for them, but if you just need somewhere to crash, then it's fine.

There's a good set of 'apartments' near the west end that are great value.

Stay City Apartments, just off Grove street.

Cheap compared to hotels and perfect for meets as there's no reception to speak of.

Well then I'm afraid it's gonna be expensive, you don't have to go far out even 10 mins and you'll find price will come down

Just had a look at Tune Hotel, great price of £49 for a double but £8 extra for a room clean?

Any idea where it is in location to the bus station please?

Its opposite haymarket station in west end,the bus station is in the east end...its about 15-20 mins walk or ten mins on tram or bus both of which you can access from st Andrews square...which is where the bus station is.

"Bit odd charging for a room clean "

It's the daily clean option.

Obviously they clean it after anyone stays in it, but if you're there for 3 days for example, they wouldn't come in and empty the bins and such if you didn't pay for the Room Clean.

Like someone else said, almost right outside the Tune Hotel is a Tram Stop, which will take you to the West End, the bottom of the Mound, St Andrews Square, and then one more stop, which basically covers the full length of the main shopping centre of Edinburgh. It's a flat fare of (currently) £1.60, but you gotta buy the ticket from a machine before you get on, as they fine you £10 otherwise.

If you're planning on doing some sight-seeing however, a £4 day-saver on the Tram will work out best as you can then also get on any normal LRT bus.

Bus 100 stops opposite it, it is the airport shuttle.

If you need some good suggestion for a room I can surely give you some good recommendations
