nowt to do with rangers liquidation and demise .

old firm is a phrase ive despised since i began following football . to me it insinuates two side of the same coin . we are one collective . i dont and never have believed that . a perfect example would be that in 2017 the best the rangers fans can muster . is

we hate catholics

everybody hates roman catholics

to the tiffany tune .

speaks volumes about them and glad to say we dont follow that path .

no doubt there will be moans about ira or rebel tunes . yes they are sung and many will say they are the same . i would argue that there is no reference to religion in rebel songs . many have been in the uk charts for christ sakes !!

hun certainly aint about protestants . or surely danny mcgrain and kenny dalgleish would be considered huns whilst amarosou would not be ?

anyway as i say . old firm ? nah not for me .

glasgow derby is fine in my book .

It's always been referred to as 'an old firm match'. Never the Glasgow derby since Glasgow does have three teams or did you forget Partick Thistle.

Derby is for the two teams in close proximity playing. Despite that St Mirren and Morton are classed as a derby!

I'm not a football fan either.

Let the football do the talking and not the excuse the game has become for bigoted racists.

Known only as "Old Firm" here in EIRE.

I'm from Ireland and to be honest have absolutely no idea what the term Old Firm actually refers to. The majority of people in EIRE would have no idea.

I've been to Glasgow and Edinburgh a number of times. Scottish people are the salt of the earth.

If I walked round wearing a football shirt things might be different but I don't.

I can only speak from my own experiences. It is a game of football.

In a nutshell it's a term for nomadic people of no place who look to destroy everywhere they go, not my personal belief as I'm a massive celtic fan and like most celtic fans from glasgow have Rangers fans in my family and realise it's just a football match, although it's a lot more than that haha

Yep but somehow made its way via history to religion and Northern Ireland in particular. At this stage surely it has run its course.

Both clubs have huge tradition and success but bring attached in whatever way to bigotry and racism does neither much good.
