No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

Do you think if someone uses their status updates to be abusive or to name and shame other members they should recieve timeouts from using the site ?

Ive saw so many status updates where some are naming & shaming or just being abusive towards other members via their updates so you would think some kind of punishment should be applied the same if they were doing it via the forums or chat .

Yes, I do. Doing that reflects badly on them and I wouldn't meet people who do that. Anything distasteful gets copied into my notes on them

Definitely agree, suspend their ability to message and update posts as a deterrent

Whenever I see that sort of moany rant I block them. There's no way I'd get along with them so by blocking I don't need to read their garbage.

yeah I think they remove statuses that do break their rules but question Im asking is should they be given some kind of timeout just like youd get if it was in chat or on the forums ?

I thought admin 'did' give a warning or time out for inappropriate statuses!

If not the case they should. Same rules should apply across the site.

Someone blocked me and I did put a status up to ask him (did not name) to block me on his second profile too as he hadn't

He didn't know I knew he had 2 profiles

So I wasn't a complete dumbass lol as he could still see my status

yes. using the status portal to be abusive is the same as sending abusive messages. they can get suspended for that so likewise using a status should be in the same class. in my opinion xx

Some folk get off on others being banned

If it dosnt include your name move on

As said before admin do take the name calling down

I use my update on how I'm feeling at the time...I never name call or abuse but when I do see it like someone said..if they have blocked you...they won't see it anyway?

I had my real name and Facebook name put on a status update and i reported it and a few other did same. The status remained up for hours and when it was eventually removed he went back to sending abusive messages. Every few months the same thing happenened for 2 years up until about 6 months ago when after doing it again on a new profile I private messaged him and sent him all the details I had on him. Needless to say he then named another female and said she told him to do it and hasn't been anything since.

I always thought if he had put it on forum he would have been in trouble but just because it was a update it wasn't took too seriously. So this maybe a good idea

Naming and shaming is totally wrong. Doesn't matter if someone has rejected you.

Being abusive is wrong and these members should be booted off the site

Status updates are simply an indication of what you are up to etc.

Yes.

But then that's why there is a report button next to them isn't it? I know that admin will remove statuses.

But I think you're right...a timeout on their whole account may be a good idea as we all get angry and frustrated at times and type things we regret later

I did reported someone for an inappropriate status update that I could see when I checked 'my looked at me' The status didn't relate to me but they put somebody else's mobile number up and wanted people to harass the person

Shortly after they disappeared from my looked at so presumed their account suspended
