Before I'm 50 bucket list

Jump to newest

By *alcon43 OP   Woman

Paisley

So I'm almost 49 and would like to do a few things before I'm 50 such as

Go to Shawfield for the greyhound racing

Go to the Speedway racing

Go to New York - grand finale trip

I'm sure I'll think of a few more and add to the list.

What would be on your list or any suggestions for me?

Not sure I fancy a Grand Prix. I have been to Knockhill to see the Touring Cars which was good.

Think I'll add a track day to my list or an off road experience.

Didn't have any outrageous things on my list. Achieved a few and still a few to work my way through. Want to visit Skye, climb Ben Nevis so I've stood at highest point in Britain. Drive the north coast 500 and kayak out to Inchconnican island on Loch Lomond to see the Wallabies

Hopefully do them this year

Well i have fired a machine gun fired a tank a rocket launcher, drove a tank drove a fire engine for real, sailed round the world, lived in the alps, played my hero in a recorded snooker match and nearly won.the time in the alps was amazing, I have been to afrika asia Europe south America and North America, had a three some a foursome been down the buy a house with a missus and evwn owned a business that until recession made good money, I can speak a few different lingo have been shot at and ahot back in iraq, cut my ear off in go kart accident and have done my football badges to pro level and every part of the above is completley true and verifiable. I have been front cover of a few major magazines as well as had a tv advert based on my job when in army been based next door to buckingham palace and been for advert shot in a fighter jet and a helicopter although didn't need the ejection parachute in the jet thankfully and have also done skid pan training vip protection escape and evasion and car handling, high pursuit driving and now after finally trying to settle for ten years with absolutely no chance of finding peace because everything I done since has seemed boring and mundane near enough and much as all that stuff sounds fun most of made my life a living nightmare for almost 6 years and im very much now into the simple things in life and to be honest whisked i hasent been so fortunate as it was a curse. So be careful what you wish for as too much of a good thing is a bad thing trust me lol

Update as my bucket list is on hold as I won’t be able to do anything until April as I’m having an op.

On the upside I have managed to go to the speedway twice which was great fun thanks to a fellow fabber giving me free tickets. I took along another fabber and she thoroughly enjoyed it too!

Still on my list of things to do are:

Go to New York

Go to the horse racing

Go to the greyhound racing

Go to the Rocky Horror Show dressed up

Go on the Orient Express

I’m sure I’ll think of more to add while I’m sitting with my feet up recovering. It’s now my list to do when I’m 50!

NY wear comfy training shoes you will walk for miles without realising it and book a show.

Scottish grand national. This is the best meeting and a good laugh. Normal 3rd sat in April.

Shawfield in summer because it’s a cold track. Get a taxi back to the town.

Rocky horror if it comes to the Kings in Glasgow. Book the Saturday night and hit the pubs nearby early. It’s a great atmosphere and a eye opener. I once was a rocky virgin like you.

Orient express never done it. Sounds great although I fancy the Rocky Mountain train in Canada as an alternative.

I hope this helped and if you fancy the Scottish grand national pm me.

Go to New York - grand finale trip

I'm sure I'll think of a few more and add to the list.

What would be on your list or any suggestions for me?

I can definitely recommend a parachute jump, an exhilarating experience

I can vouch for the parachute jump. You might want to buy some Tena Lady for it, though... "

good luck with your parachute jump, hope you have plenty time and weekends to spare, especially if Strathallan as for the past 20 years we always get low cloud base there, a tandem is good (I think, ive never done one) but I would recommend AFF

Play in a poker tournament . Could easily set a friendly one up for you with a few other fabbers that might want to try it too. Poker can be very cheap if you want to play a tournament . Under a fiver for a nights entertainment. Could easily make it a learn poker night . "

That sounds good. Could be a great wee social too. I do like the sound of that.

Somewhere over there

Can Defo recommend a skydive; totally amazing! Bungee is next!

Also a tattoo was on my bucket list (see pics for what mine is like)

Some ideas;

Swim with sharks

Ride a motorcycle

Own a cat/pet

Learn a new language

Scuba dive

Visit a foreign county not in the EU

Go commando one night!

Boudoir session photo shoot

Learn a new craft/hobby

Apply to be on a tv quiz show

Visit a part of Scotland you’ve never been to before. (NC500 good starting point)

Good luck with op x

Well poker night was great fun. Thanks to BeADevil for suggesting and organising it.

Looks like I’ll need to extend it to ‘when I’m 50’ as well. Can’t fit it all in before April!

Future events will include:-

Going to the races - maybe ladies day and get the glad rags on!

A night at the dogs - greyhound racing

A boudoir photo shoot

Still hoping to get to New York

Visit some where in Scotland I’ve never been before

Still considering the tattoo

Trip on the Orient Express

Take a train trip in Scotland over the viaduct in Harry Potter

Go to Rocky Horror Show dressed up.

So I’ve managed to do the following

Speedway, went to Edinburgh Tattoo, poker night and been to the Escape Rooms.

I’m off for the next few weeks so I might manage to tick off another one.
